WTB: BMW style 162 or 197 wheels
New member here, Looking for some 18x8" wheels for my 07 335xi. Not interested in staggered (18x8.5" rears), must be 18x8" for all wheels. Can be with or without tires, and with or without TPMS. Style 162: or Style 197 Edit: Got these pictures from google images, sorry if I used yours Last edited by mbehe87; 07-18-2010 at 11:20 AM.. |

I would rather not stagger my wheels since I have an all wheel drive model. Maybe it would be fine but I'll stay on the safe side.
cxc511, thanks I will check out that link. I was hoping to find some within driving distance though. Any idea what it costs to ship 4 wheels/tires? |

What I meant was that the 197s are staggered from the factory..on xis. 8.0 wide up front and 8.5 in the rears. But i suppose you are looking for two fronts so you can run the same width all around

mbehe87 I have a set of 197s with Toyo T1Rs for sale here: http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=387608
The setup was meant to go on my fathers 328xi wagon so the tires are sized to be the same circumference (within 1%) so that the staggered setup adds no additional wear to the awd differentials. I did a lot of research on this before intially purchasing the wheel setup so you'll be fine running these on your xi. Money just ended up being tight so we need to sell them. Check out the link though! |

jaysbluee92, yes I have read that they come staggered from the factory, I was just hoping to find someone with the same width all around like the link cxc511 posted. I would consider staggered wheels but honestly I have no experience calculating the % difference in circumference.
asilver, unfortunately I live near Pittsburgh and CT is too far of a drive. I looked into shipping and the price/hassle is just not worth it. I'm not in any hurry, so I guess I will wait around until something in the area becomes available. Thank you all for the links so far, and if you see any 162's or 197's within 3-4 hrs of Southwest PA, I will definitely consider. |

What did you come up with for shipping costs from CT to Pittsburgh? I'm just curious. I sold a set of rims several years ago and shipped regionally via UPS - it took a little effort on my part to package them but it was not terrible and the cost which I passed on the the buyer was maybe $100-$150. Of course a local sale is easier for both parties and you see what you are buying right in front of your face...

I came up with about $150-200 for 4 x 18" wheels+tires, which isn't terrible, but as you mentioned, I would much rather pick them up in person. I've been in a dispute with someone on craigslist for about 6 months now.

Thanks but no thanks, I decided that I will only pick up in person and I'm in PA. I am just wrapping up a 6+ month dispute with someone from Craigslist for a Pioneer sx-1980 stereo receiver and it has been a nightmare. I don't think I could send that much money out of trust anymore.

Again, thanks but no thanks. I live in PA and want to pick them up in person. I do appreciate you letting me know.
Prophet6, thanks I will let you know. That whole stereo situation was a mess but the guy seems so honest. If you know anything about stereos that SX-1980 is like the holy grail. Ok maybe not exactly, but its up there. |
