Not my review, but Kai's are usually pretty entertaining.

I know what you mean. I can't understand how anyone could live with that.

why no love for the vertical grip? I have one on my 5D MkIII and I love it.. I think its helps a great deal on my wedding shoots in keeping shots straight rather than crooked.

A little confuse here.. whats wrong with the door? is it that you have to turn that knob to open it? cause its been like that since the 1D mark i. IMO, nothing out of the ordinary for the professional camera

EDIT: NVM haha just saw the video and wow I did not realize there was no spring in the 1Dx door. DA HEEEALLLLL

hmm... why is the CF door bothering you guys so much? have you lost your thumbs or something?

I like the fact that it doesn't stay open. It makes swapping CF cards in the rain safer.

We're busting your chops.

You open the door, put a CF in and forget about it, BFD...

well, actually, it's not that simple. you have hold the 1D a certain way to keep the door open. probably more pronounced coming from a D3 where the door is spring loaded. it's all about usability.
so unless you're used to a spring-loaded door, you won't miss that. huge design/engineering flaw.

They've added the spring-loaded door to the 5D MkIII, the last time I used a 1DMkIV I thought it also had a spring loaded door but maybe my memory is playing tricks on me. I guess I got spoiled using my MkIII =P

Only Kai disclosed this fatal flaw. I may stop reading all other reviewers. Only Kai gives us complete reviews covering all of the important issues. I like his silly girls also, particularly the one in the white swimsuit.

Don't fret. It's only a matter of time before a jail-break hack is available for you 1D-X. Then you'll need to decide between your warranty and 4K video.

Yeah... hopefully the Magic Lantern team will work on the 1D X next, since they just recently cracked the dual-processor 7D.

Dang! Kai sure knows how to find some interesting things.

Has me wondering if I should get the 5dmk3 or spend the change and get the 1Dx. the speed is nice for chasing airplanes..

I find I hit the buffer pretty quick and miss a few shots with my 7D's 8fps. A drop to 6 might be a hassle!
