they are porking up the 1 series making it bigger, quite a bit bigger so they have ot make a 0 series

it's stupid, just stop making the cars bigger every time the model changes, 3 series are bigger than the old 5 series, it's pathetic

you'd be right if you were referring to the e30 or even e36.

025xdriveiS is what it'll be called.

I swear these new BMW monikers are getting to be ridiculous. Pretty soon you'll have to buy a 4 door car so that you've got enough space to get the full model designation written out.

I like the concept, though I wouldn't ever want a FWD BMW. I too agree that it probably won't ever see the shores of the US, but sorry to say right now as far as cars go its a kill or be killed market and sadly (regardless of how uninformed people are) smaller, more fuel efficient cars are what the world is asking for.

I read an article a number of years ago that said something like 80% of the pollution caused by cars is made by 1% of automobiles that are in need of a tune. We've all seen it before... some old car from the 70s/80s that is just belching out white/black/brown smoke. I've always held the belief that something like that should be a ticket-able offense, but alas... we have j-walkers to attend to.

+1 for the design -1 for FWD = BMW 0 series.

Looks clean. As long as they don't skimp on the engine and suspension it should still be an OK drive.

if they don't cheap out on it, make it RWD, put in the big N47S turbodiesel from the 123d and keep the weight to 2700lbs it would be awesome. Unfortuneately it will probably be cheap in fit and finish, FWD, underpowered and overpriced

meh, I like the hatch part

but the whole mid/front is basically the same as the 1 series and that's what everyone hates on the 1 series

3 series owners will find any excuse to hate on the 1 series because they are in complete denial over the fact that it's a better BMW.

um, no. I joined this forum just to say that if BMW makes a FWD car it will have forever lost my respect. My Ti is my first BMW and I had looked forward to brand loyalty, but FWD is unacceptable.

My 3 has had way more issues than the 1. Better built is arguable. Better materials? Yes.

RWD in such a small wheelbase will definitely spell disaster for most drivers. The car will be so twitchy.

Can't wait for the Sub-Zero range.

RWD on a short wheelbase like that and you are asking for some fun! If it ends up FWD, it will likely be good anyways.

Edit: Master Deep beat me to it

don't they come off the same assembly line, with basically the same parts?

Basically the same parts, but different weights, wheelbase, and personality.
