Trapster and Bluetooth (Blackberry)
Has anyone been able to get the alerts from Trapster to announce over bluetooth on a blackberry? I know the iPhone required it to be jailbroken to do so.

I currently have it set to handsfree (or handsfree, whatever the speakerphone is) just so I get audible alerts. I tried both the bluetooth options, but don't believe that either of them worked. However, in my area, there are not many items to alert on. So, I do not have a good method of testing the output that I know of.

Yes BT works on regular BT headsets on BlackBerry (but not on iPhone). Set audio options to BT SCO. You can test it by going to sound themes and clicking preview (and pick a fun voice while you are at it). Also you will hear the alerts over the BT headset if you are already on a call.

Pete,
Thank you for your reply. I'm not interested in getting it over a bluetooth headset but output over the stereo (idrive) connected via bluetooth while not playing music via the blackberry. I have tried both bluetooth SCO and bluetooth A2DP to no avail. I'll reach out on the site referenced and if I have success will update this thread. |

I can't comment on product roadmap plans, especially since it's not my company any more (sold to NAVTEQ last year). Nothing speaks louder than user requests. The best places to post such a request are getsatisfaction.com/trapster, and facebook.com/trapster.

Same problem
Hey guys,
I'm having the same problem. I have a BB Bold 9700. Warnings work fine when set at handsfree. I do not get any sound that comes through the headset when at the headset setting. I do not hear anything over the bluetooth from my car. I have tried different settings but to no avail. Both SCO and A2DP. I've also posted on the "Get satisfaction" site, but still no solution. I would be happy even if I had the alerts come through my headset, especialy when my top is down. |
