Full leather is nicer. But for me, it is not $2500 nicer.

A lot of the "full" leather is actually black. There are just strips on the doors and the dash has a little stripe and a couple other accents.

i changed my order from 19's to 18's only bc even the 19's look tiny to me. Gonna save the $1200 option cost and buy forged 20's which will most likely be lighter than even the 18's, at least the ones Im looking at are around low-mid 20lbs in weight.

Granted, I've never seen the M3/M4 in person, but I was at the dealer the other day, and saw a couple M5's and M6's, with and without the full leather. I have to say, I don't think I'm going with the full. I was pretty much all set on going with the full leather. I recently bought a Mercedes ML350, and while I was shopping around, saw one that had a leather dash. As far as I know, this isn't even an option, but the dealer said it was a special 'custom' option that can sometimes be added. It REALLY made the car feel different. It looked and felt very full, soft, and nice; elegantly luxurious. It reminded me of an Aston Martin or something. It looked like the same type of leather used on the steering wheel, and felt that way as well. I didn't get that car because it was the wrong color combo, and I think it was already sold. But the leather dash on the interior was very nice.
On the BMW's the full leather on the dash felt very thin, stiff, and looked cheap and fake. The leather on the door armrests looked and felt decent, but the strips on the top of the door panels, and on the dash, was a huge disappointment. I was expecting something like in the Mercedes. I won't pass final judgement until I see the car myself, but if it's anything like the M5, I'm definitely gonna pass. |

I saw the cars today in full leather (show cars, plastic still was around, but I knew i was in a car instead of a lexus drivers face) and the full looked good. If I were buying mine in order to maybe getting laid in this century, I'd do it. This not being an issue in my life, and because my husband will never even see the keys of the car, the car in my mind would be more bad arse without all the finishing.
And as an extra info, girls do not like cars. do not even try to get one with one. that will only work in three places in the world, and seriously, who would want to be around that. srry, the bitch in me strike again. |

I have seen Merino dash on the 7 series - ok, maybe it looked a little thin - but I thought it looked good I saw what I think was Nappa on a X5 - looked great, similar to my bosses 911 I thought 6 series with leather on the dash is just beautiful in my opinion - I don't know if they even have a plastic dash option - but I saw a 6 grand coupe with the cheap/thick soft dash - no idea what it was but they said it is standard if you don't opt for a leather - looked horrible. In my opinion it is an expensive, but very attractive option (leather dash) - my only concern is the possibility for it to get scratched easier - and I am sure that day will come. |

I know others have commented how the leather on the dash was nice, missed it from their other cars, etc. I guess the only way to really know is to see the actual car at the dealer when it arrives. But I can't imagine it's going to feel more lux than the M5 or M6, cars that are, by default, more lux than the M3/M4. To me, it's surprising that there's such a wide range of opinions on how the leather dash looks/feels. Price is another matter. Also, for reference, I've been in plenty of 911's, 997's and 991's, and their leather dash seems much nicer than BMW's. |

If you can afford the $ then the extended leather is worthwhile. The car feels a class above with this option fitted. In the UK, there is no residual value uplift for this option so you have to pay the full cost on the lease.....so frankly not worth it.

I agree, however Autoblog just had an article saying that FULL is $3500. I was on the fence with $2500. Anyone else read that?
I'm out!!!

I believe it's $3500 if you order it by itself, but if you order the executive package (ZEC), it comes with extended leather, and full leather is an extra $2500 above that.

So full leather is $2500 more than extended. In the US, extended is $950 and full is $3600 on the M3 and $3500 on the M4. So $2650/$2550 over extended for the M3/4. |

Depends on how deep your pockets are !!!!
Its easy if you have the cash and you like the look of full versus extended its a no brainer. If you hae a budget and trying to pick from options to include in your car than it will be tricky. I would probably choose many other options before i get to the full leather. I will be getting it because i like the look and i also can afford the options i want with the full leather.

Sure, if one has very deep pockets and $2500 is pocket change then your statement might be true. In that case the M3/4 is probably is 3rd, 4th or 5th vehicle for that person. In my case, $2500 is far from being a breaking point. I certainly can afford the full leather. I just don't find I get $2500 worth of additional enjoyment going with full leather. But on the other hand, I am willing to dish out $2000 for the LED lights only because they look cool (I don't think they offer much in terms of performance improvment). In the end, it is all a question of personal preferences and choices rather than overall wealth. |

The $1200 price for factory 19's wont pay for ONE forged 20" wheel, and you still have to buy tires! A set of BBS LM's with Yokohama ADVAN tires is $7000. There are less expensive wheels of course, but not 20 lb forged wheels. I think the $1200 19" option is the best value of any of the options. I would check that box and STILL consider aftermarket wheels later down the line. |
