honestly i don't see why not. its debatable. it says its compatible with the shell M-1375.4.... but then again I'm guessing for a stock horsepower transmission. not a trans about to be raped daily. LOL

I never trust BMW fluids ever since I used there oil....it is terrible in my opinion lol! I used redline in a lot if cars that had more power than this one lol! I just like redline...use it in my differential to!

go for it i guess! what type of oil did you use for your Diff? I'm picking my differential up from a shop tomorrow

I used Red Line 75W90NS. Also, Check out this link - found some alternative ATF and I'm just not sure if it's a good substitute... But per reviews it appears to be.

Why do you have to lower the car to the ground to shift thru the gears? Why not in the air with 4 Jack stands and a Jack on the front and on back for added safety? Is it really necessary to use a thermometer to see how hot the oils is our will the 6-8minutes be fine.

Also on some DIY it states to have the car running while filling the tranny....I have never understood this since car is already warned up previously but did you do this?

13. Transmission Fluid
After mechatronic installation the transmission must be refilled with transmission fluid. With vehicle on level
ground, transmission in park and engine not running add transmission fluid through the filler plug until
transmission fluid overflows. Install the filler plug and start the engine. With engine running remove the filler
plug and add transmission fluid until it overflows through the filler hole. Install the filler plug. With foot firmly
on the brake pedal shift PNRD
several times, pausing in each position for a few seconds. Place shifter
back into the park position. Remove the filler plug and wait until the transmission has reached 40 ° C, a
small stream of transmission fluid should overflow from the filler plug. If no fluid is visible then correct fluid
level as needed, using ZF Lifeguardfluid6 or OEM approved fluid. Install filler plug and torque to 35NM.

14. Test drive
It is recommended to clear the fault memories before driving. Should a fail safe condition occur a clean
record of events will be available for trouble shooting.

15. Final check
After
test drive allow the transmission fluid to cool to 40 ° C recheck transmission fluid with vehicle level,
transmission in park and engine running at idle speed. Correct fluid level as needed, using ZF
Lifeguardfluid6 or OEM approved fluid.
Check
for leaks in the mechatronic sleeve and oil pan area.

I added 6qrts the first time, put the filler plug in and started the car and added another quart. Went through all the gears, then checked fluid level and fluid was dripping out. Car's been on for 10min and fluid is still coming out...guess I can't add any more?

i woudlnt let it drip all the way, i would just open it if it looses a bit a fluid the second time, just close it and your done

i never used a tourqe wrench... LOL not even for my turbos or spark plugs, i did however for my Valvebody, but just close the fill plug tight just don't over tighten and don't leave it loose.

Cat won't start...had it idling for 20 mins and it just stopped like it lost all fuel...did a valve cleaning at same time...hope it is not related.
