New here and need some mod advice!
Hey guys! I just sold my Infiniti G37S (full mods) cause I was tired of getting my ass kicked by you guys! Now that my 335i coupe should be here this week I am beginning to plan my mods. I want to start off with simple mods that will gain me some hp, looks, handling etc.
I really have no idea what is good and affordable on the market as I am not looking to spend major $$ on this car. Just simple mods that will satisfy me and not cause me any trouble. Just for you to get a feel for what Im looking for, what I had on my g37 was: -Eibach ProKit -Custom Mufflers -PCd wheels -Hypertech Chip -Status Elite Intakes -Murdered out (grill, lights, accents etc.) -Matte black accents (roof, wheels, trunk spoiler) so please! Give me some suggestions!! I hear you guys are very friendly and I cant wait to meet you all and talk some cars! -CES335 |

Congrats and welcome! We come from a similar background. I used to own 350Z with Nismo mods (LMGT4 Rims, Cat-back, CAI) and a Motordyne plenum spacer. Then, traded it for my 2010 335. As for mods, do your research in the Turbo / FI Engine and 335i -335d Tuning / Drivetrain / Exhaust Modifications section. There is a sticky link that lists all the mods for the 335. Good luck.

Welcome and congrats on the 335. Check out the tuning forum for all your performance questions as well as the cosmetics forum for all your aesthetic needs.
Just to give you an idea of what you'll be looking at: JB3/Procede ($579-$1000) Helix FMIC (~$800, look for group buys) DCI ($400-500) Catless DP's/full catback exhaust set-up ($900-2K+) ^ All in due time. First thing to set you off should be JB3/CAI. Don't let the mod bug bite you too hard.

Big question to ask yourself is how much you care about your warranty. Almost all mods will void the warranty, but some companies do thier best to replace the voided warranty and make you whole again. That is wy I went with a Dinan Stage 2 software not JB3 or the others. Dinan is more expensive and not quite as powerful/flexible, but the car runs as smooth as a non-midified 335i and Dinan covers the 4year warranty that BMW no longer does. BMW stealership sold it as "we sell both, so if anythign breaks, we'll fix it and determine who gets ths bill." As of last discussion with parts manager, they didn't have one warranty claim on over 200 Dinan 335s.

Now if you get JB or PROcede and wipe the codes and yank out the tune its hard for them to prove you've ever had a tune. |

All of the mods I did on the 37 were aimed towards higher rpms so it didnt help me much in a drag. |

Best bang for buck list (IMHO)
jb+ or the sstt, plus they're both so easy to install for an instant 40-50hp gain! Should be able to get one for under 100 bucks on the used market stett cold air intake, about 400 but a true cai, very similar functioning design as dinan except without the carbon fibre and less than half the price. vanguard exhaust at about 1200 sounds good and looks good Last edited by mkaaes; 04-17-2010 at 07:22 PM.. |

Ummm... if I'm correct and you have the new e92 335i, then you probably have the n55 engine (single twin scroll turbo)? Not sure if the n55 is only for 2010 e90/e91 or does it include the e92/e93. If your engine is the n55, then there is not current tune out there for that engine. Most of us have the n54 (twin turbo) engines.
Regardless, welcome and have fun modding!
