I have a similar issue with my 2010 335i (e92) with Dinan Stage 2 suspension. I went with +1 tires on stock wheels:
Original: 225/40-18: Height: 25.1" Width: 8.9" (RFT) Current: 235/40-18: Height: 25.4" Width: 9.3" (DW) - Suspension clearance 5mm closer to suspension/brakes After I installed the Dinan CF Intake, I believe it pushed out the fender lining out ever so slightly which is causing the rubbing when the wheel is cranked and reversing out of a parking spot. I am looking to replace the front tires but what to get rid of the rubbing issue... I am trying to determine if it is because of the increased height or increased width - any ideas? Options for replacement (front): 235/40-18: Height: 25.4" Width: 9.3" in PSS, I assume it will rub more than the current DW (Suspension clearance 5mm closer to suspension/brakes) 225/40-18: Height: 25.1" Width: 8.9" (no change - same as original) 225/45-18: Height: 25.9" Width: 8.9" (no change to suspension clearance, wheelwell filled out by additional 11mm) If height was the reason, looks like I should go back to the 225/40-18; if width was the concern - then I'd like to go with the 225/45-18. However, if the overall height is larger or smaller than the rear wheel is that a concern? Thanks for the input. |

I think increased height issues more
I have 07 335i running a set of goodyear f1a2 225/40/19 255/35/19 with rims style 230 I know this set up is a 4% size increase comparing to stock size, but I've read some thread saying 225/40/19 255/35/19 isn't going to cause any rubbing issues. However, in my case , no rubbing at rear , but rubbing at front wheel liner both turning left or right. more obvious sound when turning the steering wheel left with car reversing because the r't front wheel will rub the oil cooler vent btw..rubbing occurs both in sports suspension and eibach pro kit+bilstein personal experience |

Bump, I have the same issue. Rubs only in reverse with a quarter turn. After taking a closer look the wheels rub on the vent. I think certain tire brands rub where as the same size in other brands don't. I'm due for new tires soon anyway and will see what happens then.
Right now I'm on some cheap all season Kumho's from the previous owner. Looking into getting Michelin PSS or Hankook Ventus Evo 2 V12s. I've been very satisfied with the grip level of the Hankooks on my other car in both wet and dry conditions. Decent quality stuff for the price. |

I had this issue on mine as well. For what its worth check if the car has been over a curb thingy on the front bumper. The previous owner had gone over a couple and pulled some of the screws out of the bumper. If you weren't looking for it you would never notice it. I only found it when I put 235/40/18 Conti DW tires on and 8.5 inch VMR wheel and got the rubbing on the right side on the oil cooler vent in reverse like what you guys are experiencing.
I got a few replacement screws and screwed the bumper back into the black plastic underlining on the car and problem solved!

Anyone try a 245 30 19 PSS on the front of your IS? Not much taller than the 235 30 19 which others have indicated doesn't rub on the wheel well grills. I run a 245 35 19 but in the DWS without any problems.
Also does the rolling diameter front to rear need to be with x.x % to keep DTC happy? Know this a big concern with xdrives due to transfer case. Was thinking about 245 30 front and 265 30 rear on OEM 313s and stock suspension.
