Newbie - Tire and Rim Sizing Question - Help!

Hey everyone,
So I am brand spankin new here! I just ordered a 2013 528 Xdrive M Sport White and super excited to take delivery of it in about a week. This is my first BMW ever (we were always Benz people)... and I feel like I have finally seen the light!!

As much as I have fallen in love with the F10 - I just cannot accept the 18' wheels, so I'm ordering a replica set of 20's....but very confused and don't want to order the wrong size.

1. Do you guys think 20's will look too big on the car?
2. I don't intend to lower, should this impact my decision?
3. Will 20's make my ride super rough?
4. I have read a lot on offsets and spacing in the last couple days, but I don't think I understand it enough at this point to make a confident buying decision.
The supplier has 20 inch rims in the following sizes:
20X8.5, ET12-38, PCD 100-120, 5Hole
20X9.5, ET12-38, PCD 100-120, 5Hole

Will any of these sizes fit my car? and should I be getting the same size for fronts and backs? Any suggestions on what rubbers would look best on the car? I have read that lots of people are using 245/35/20 in front and 285/30/20 on the rear. Any thoughts??

I know what I want the car to look like, but I need some help getting there, lol!

Thanks a million in advance...
By the way, you guys run an amazingly helpful forum... seriously, the info that everyone shares with each other is amazing!

I think on the xdrive you cannot have a staggered pair of rims- meaning front and rear are the same.

You can use staggered wheels and tires on the xdrive, but it's important to keep the tire diameter close in the front and rear.

You mentioned that the front and rear tires diameters need to be close.
I noticed you suggested these OEM size tires to someone else who wanted to put on 20's
Front:245/35/20, Rear:275/30/20.
Would you say that's the maximum diameter difference I should go (245 and 275)?

thanks again for your input

The Factory 20" wheel (F=8.5" wide / R=9" wide) set-up for 2013 xDrive F10s is:
Front: 245/35R20
Rear: 275/30R20
Offsets are F=33 / R=44
Check http://www.realoem.com/bmw/showparts...16&hg=36&fg=15 for other wheel and tire combinations.
If you're driving on super smooth roads you'll be OK; any potholes and you should be prepared to replace bent wheels and destroyed tires regularly. When winter arrives, 20" and ultra low profile tires (even snows) are useless.

Much appreciated!
I was hoping to either use the 18" all seasons that come with the 528 for winter time (which probably won't work that great), or get 18" winters.
