Price to Sell - Where Do i even start
Gentleman, (and ladies):
I need some advice, and I figured there no better place to start than this forum. Where can i find a pricing guide to sell my 2007 e92 335i 6MT sport package. I was hoping to get an accurate price range here in the forums for where to begin. Details: Year: 2007 E Color: Silver I Color: Black with metal inlays Trans: 6MT Package: Sports Mileage: 64k CPO warranty: through 8/2013 Upgrades: Continental Extreme DW 235 40 18" front Continental Extreme DW 265 35 18" rear Velocity Motoring v701 18" Painted Wheel w/BMW center cap Dinan Stage 2 ECU upgrade Dinan Stage 2 Black Tip Exhaust aFe Stage 2 dual cone intake Custom air dam H&R 29187 HA(R) Springs New HPFP (warranty) New injector coil packs (warranty) All new vacuum hoses and pump (warranty) New front and rear brakes Haven't had a dyno since 10/2011, last dynojet was 362rwp I would like to get $22,000 - $24,000 and I have a clean title in hand. I figure dealer trade would be much less since they don't take the upgrades into account. It must go to specific buyer considering most people are interested in performance upgrades. Braman BMW handled all the upgrades except exhaust and springs. They BMW CPO covers ALL Dinan upgrades 100%. Soooo, where do I begin? Any thoughts? Thanks for the time |

KBB obviously
then maybe add 50-65% of what your mods cost you or remove them and sell them on here. you'd probably get more back from them if you sold them individually in the regional forum

check your local craigslist for prices. Take the mean and I would say that a good start. If you plan to sell locally be ready to neg a little.

Nah, leave the DINAN stuff. The car will actually fetch more with a private sale, unlike the piggyback mods. An enthusiast will pay a couple of grand more and then some for it.
Ummm, AFAIK, BMW will not CPO a DINAN car actually. However, DINAN does match the FACTORY warranty with its own (though not EXACTLY the same, ask anyone who has had something go wrong with a DINAN setup.) That said, it is rare, as DINAN is known to work closely with BMW specs to find that sweet spot of performance and reliability. |

Re:
Great Info so far. Dark night - I've been to 2 BMW Dealers for warranty issues since the install. The HPFP was replaced twice, the water pump was replaced, they replaced all 6 coil packs, vacuum lines and vacuum pump - all on separate occasions. The only reason I went with Dinan over all the other tuners was integration with BMW warranty.
I was surprised when then only charged me the $49 CPO deductible. Thanks! |

Anytime a car has been modified the buyer pool gets narrowed. Even people looking to modify a car will often avoid a previously modified car. That's just the way it is, no one wants a car that might have been beat on. Good Luck.

None of the OP's "upgrades" add value to the car maybe except for new brakes. The majority of buyers don't want a modded car. If anything it decreases value. If the OP wants to get the most value, part out the car and return it back to stock.

Pretty much the only place you're going to be able to sell a modded car is on the forums or to a bmw enthusiast.
So KBB to start, but most likely having all the mods (no matter how great they are) won't get you more money. If someone offer a good price for the car + the mods that's a good deal. And having the 6mt is definitely a plus. But in the end you might want to consider parting out the car.

If people on a BMW forum doesn't think DINAN adds value to a car, you think the average buyer will? Good luck finding the right buyer. And even if he finds the right buyer, he'll still get more if he parts it out.

http://www.autotrader.com/cars-for-s...CarId=143EB9BA I haven't checked it out on carfax or anything, but there's a huge number available for less than $20,000. Not saying you should go down, but expecting the phone to ring off the hook may be a little optimistic. GLWS.

However, I suspect there are many people who have never heard of burger or cobb or giac or what have you, that have heard of Dinan. They may not know much about Dinan or tuning, but they know it means quality and improved performance. Those guys may be willing to pay a bit of a premium. But you got to find them. I personally don't think I'd expect to get any extra if I had dinan on my car - but it may be the thing that makes a guy chose my car over a similarly priced/optioned car without dinan. |

One GREAT place to advertise a car that is a bit "special" is Roundel, the BMWCCA magazine. Goes to the RIGHT people, and always a nice selection of cars for sale. Also BIMMER magazine as a second.
If I ever to decide to sell my 6spd RWD wagon, Roundel will be the first ad I place. A couple of generic thoughts on advertising a car - first, detail the ever-loving HECK out of it, then take lots and lots of good, high definition pictures. FIX anything that is obviously not quite right or broken. A small investment in PDR and repairing interior bits will pay off huge. Make that car shine inside and out.

decent price, you could fetch 22-24 for the right buyer, but im guessing people would offer closer to 20 flat.
