You have to turn DSC completely off to do a burn out.

You can do a burn out with dtc pressed once as long as you don't yaw... the e-diff will also be active resulting in 2 tracks.

Definitely could have used this info last year I learned the hard way about large vs. small. Also, it's interesting that some vendors are still saying 3/2007 to 9/2007 autos are welded.

Thanks for the write-up and the very informative photos. Great post!

One question regarding the difference in gear ratio between AT and MT: The AT cars have a much longer 6th gear than the MT cars resulting in higher top speed, whereas the first five gears are shorter, resulting in better acceleration. However you're writing that with the 3.46 AT gear ratio you're sacrificing top speed...?

This is my concern also. What effect does an LSD have on the car's DSC and DTC systems?

I've had a Quaife installed for almost 4 yrs now. DSC and DTC are unaffected. DTC allows for more slip before DSC is activated. DSC just doesn't get activated as easliy w/a LSD installed.

adding: Great post Mike@VAC! The comprehensive build date info wasn't available when I had my Quaife installed.

Mike, which one do you like best personally between Quaife and Wavetrac? Why?

They have been pretty busy over at VAC, but i opted for a pumpkin swap with a used core deposit and it only took a couple Weeks to build the diff... Then had to wait about a week for the next appointment to actually swap out the pumpkins. Check out their supersale in the sponsors for sale section! It's about to end...

After my research, I've seen that wave track is a newer company, but their diff is able to create some torque in a rear wheel while the other wheel has no load. However, it seems like this situation arises very rarely and quife is preferred by many over the wavwtrack because of their reputation for quality and lack of problems (unlike many have posted about the wavetrack)
