From 0 to 100 km/h in 7.9 s

Is that about what you're getting?

Was it always slow?
Or did this just get slower than stock?

This is what confuses me.

320d : 0-60 in 7.9
4 cylinder honda accord : 0-60 in 7.3 (econo 'i don't care for going fast' version)
6 cylinder honda accord : 0-60 in 5.7

If it's a problem : he has to be getting 0-60 in like 10+ to notice the difference.

If it's not a problem : did he bother to floor it during the test drive?

Seems we don't have too many on this bit of the forum who understand diesel power. Nothing to do with 0 - 60 figures.

Are you new to diesel power?

If I am reading your description correctly, (heard it described like this before), sounds as if you could have a turbo issue. I'd suggest you check, or get checked, the variable vane actuator mechinism. It could be sticking, or not allowing slow speed spool up. It is a common thing to get power at higher speeds, as the default setting is for controlling boost. So you don't get the benefit of the VGT at lower rpm. Sometimes the problem can be the EGR valve sticks open and that also is more noticeable from lower rpm.

The one before an 06 plate. Here in the UK we often use the registation code to identify the age of the car. 55 is September 05 to February 06, My car's an 06, that is from March 06 to August 06.... 56 follows from September 06, and so on.

Oh, great,

By extrapolation and judicious application of Murphy's Law, we can therefore conclude with glee that the N55 engine, you know, the one with the variable vane single turbo that is supposed to eliminate the HPFP issues of the N54 engine, will suffer from the same issues as the variable vane turbo of the diesels in Europe........
