320d doesn't sound like it would be a great choice if you're planning on racing with your friends

My friend just bought an F30 and he let me test drive it. I say the interior is a big improvement & much more elegent. First thing I noticed is that the steering wheel & gas pedal is smoother. I tried all 3 driving modes: ECO PRO - fuel efficient but the car is very weak; COMFORT - I didn't notice anything much; SPORT - I say is the real typical BMW setup & I use the steptronic to try the 8 speed transmission. Wow it was faster than I thought for a 4 cyclinder.

Overall, I like the interior, the steering wheel & the pedal feel. But...I still like the look of the E90....

There are only 2 sedan (E90 LCI) variants are available in India bro, the 320d and the 330i. I wouldn't mind getting the 330i but the gas prices are too high. A liter of Diesel costs Rs. 48 ($0.95) whereas the Gasoline costs around Rs.80 ($1.6) per liter. & personally I loved the 335i when I drove it in London but I just don't feel that the 330i is overall a better performer than the 320d.

Thanks for your input. The feelings are mutual. The E90 LCI feels like its on the sports mode by default

If you don't care about efficiency and are all about fun, get the 335i, not the 320d.

Now, if you can only consider the 330i, it is a much more enjoyable package than a 320d. It does not have the same torque curve, but it does output some serious power and has the proper power band of a proper sport car. Not as clear cut, but for fun and joy only, the 330 still wins for me.

The 320D is the top BMW seller in the UK.
It's the best 'all-round' motor available.
Good performance with good fuel enconomy. Low road tax.
All with an excellent drive and good resale value.
Whatever some say: it's unbeatable!
There is no other motor available in the UK which can get anywhere near it!

If I had to choose between E90 LCI or F30, I would pick E90 in terms exterior styling. But newer is better right?
