Smile Australia 4 Series F32 Pricing

Hi all,

Long time lurker here, and after months of deliberation I've decided to join the club and get my first BMW!

In line with this great thread here: http://www.f30post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=675348
it would be great if we could share our experiences on pricing and options for 4 Series here in Australia.

I'm looking to get a 428i M-Sport, and happy to get a demo model, so would be especially interested in any tips, cheers!

If you are after a good deal go straight to Trivett Classic and talk to Nathan Corbishly, they have very good negotiating flexibility unlike most BMW dealerships i have dealt with. I got 16% off drive away on my X5 and my best mate received similar % off his X3. Now i'm not saying you'll receive anything close because the 4 series has just come out but you should aim for 10-12% off at minimum. If you do end up going tell him Chris with X5 referred you and he'll sort of know that he has to provide a great deal.

Thanks Hectic. So are you just negotiating on total package, or are you going hard on specific items like Dealer Delivery, MSport package, etc?
I'm also guessing that end of the month is best time to do a deal?

Negotiating over total amount after all the options and dealer delivery etc etc.

Great, thanks Hectic.
Anyone else who has (or just about to) purchase a 4 series? Any details on what you got, prices paid for options, etc?

Yes, bumping my own thread here as I'd really appreciate more input before making a decision.
I'm in Sydney, happy to buy from any dealer in Syd/Mel. I spoke to BMW Melbourne, they have an Estoril Blu 428 MSport demo for $94,888.
For that money I'd want at least sunroof, comfort access, Pro Nav (or is that standard?), Variable Sports Steering, Leather, Bi Xenons.

Is that doable?
Should I pay less?
Any other options that are a must-have?

Don't forget there are two dealers slightly to the North of you. In my experience both of whom are more willing to negotiate on price, especially if you like floor stock.

The guy at Worthington's is Joel Rees and I don't have a contact in sales at Kloster's. I've asked my service guy to come back to me with a contact for you.

Good luck.

I would suggest Nathan Corbishley as well at BMW Trivett Classic Parramatta. Nice guy and is willing to discuss and negotiate. Do shop around though, there's still BMW Chatswood, Sydney etc...

There are very few active people on this forum who have bought the 4 series mate, most of us have F30's or whatever the wagon is called.

Did you say demo? Is the price rrp before discount?
I would ask for at least 15k off rrp if it was a demo, may be more.
Don't think there is a must have option. BMW sucks you in with their optional extras. If you are concerned about money don't option heavily as they don't add much to the resale value. If you don't care about resale then get whatever you like.
I haven't bought a 4 series but I have bought 2 BMW's last few years. The same principle applies.

I haven't purchased a 4 series, only my 328i last November, plus a dozen other cars of various makes/models over the years.

Only advice I ever give is to make sure you've got your cash ready to go for a deposit, wait until the last day of the month and walk in at 9am, make an offer, tell them you're ready to place a deposit and the games will begin. Offer them 20% less than they quote (be happy with 15% to settle) and absolutely be willing to walk. When you do walk, drop your business card and reiterate you are ready to buy today and give a deadline at say 3pm to do the deal. Go to the next dealer at 10am and do the same.

If it doesn't happen, start again next month. Eventually you'll win.

All of the above only works on floor stock and demo's BTW.

Go to the BMW Oz website and download the 4 Series Specification Guide, which lists all standard and optional equipment (but no prices). For example, Pro Nav is standard on all 4ers.

Definitely wait until the end of a year end (June) or a quarter end. They have their sales targets to reach and if you are lucky enough to have a stock car that is close to what you want go hard.

The option that I don't have but wish I did would be HUD.
