Hmmm I wonder how this will match up to the Liberty Walk's Widebody kit for the M4! Looking forward to seeing this at SEMA!! Honestly someone show some love to the M3 though!! haha

Clay modeling in action! This is old world craftsmanship aided by modern 3D laser scanning technology.

Vorsteiner has always been a benchmark in my eyes. LibertyWalk comes no where close to the quality and class of vorsteiner. The GTRS4 is taking this further.

Couldn't agree more.

The LB kits literally look just bolted on. This is integrated and designed with the M4 character in mind.

As long as this kit will allow the car to get lowered properly (unlike E92M3) this kit will look great!

Vorsteiner shared with us exclusive images inside their design studio in Orange County, California. Their GTRS4 project shows their dedication and what it takes to create an original design from the ground up. It's extremely unique to see an aftermarket company spend countless hours in the design process with using clay modeling, only seen by the best OEM manufacturers.

Enjoy this update as Vorsteiner releases more images to us, this is just the first part of their design and development for the GTRS4 F82 M4. Additional finalized & painted photos will be sent to us this Thursday!

1. 3D Scanning
Scanning using a 5-axis 3D scanner with Blue Light Technology.

The vehicle is scanned using a 5-axis scanner along with a 3D alias software in conjunction with blue-light laser scanning technology and digitized. Circular targets are also placed strategically below panels ensuring an OEM fit using existing factory hardware.

2. Clay Modeling

The clay modeling begins! Using automotive modeling foam and the highest quality industrial plasticine, we begin shaping the rear quarter panel, moving toward the rear end. Vorsteiner's in-house master craftsmen with over 10 years of experience carve, shape and chisel the clay to it's final shape.

A specialized heater ensure clay is malleable throughout the weeks of modeling.

Specialized modeling foam ensures that the shape remains relatively light preventing any sagging or sliding.

Modeling the entire vehicle using nothing but a rendering on a sheet of paper!

The basic concept of the rear quarter panel is created. Dozens of corrections are made during this stage to ensure the panel flows with the rest of the vehicle's leading edges.

Adjusting the radius for the 50th time, yet still not finalized.

Seeing the excess clay removed from the vehicle was surprisingly beautiful.

More photos arriving shortly!!

Wow! Just wow!

Exactly proves my point. I've been a huge fan of their widebody Kit for theE92 M3 and nearly did it myself. Huge amount of R&D goes into their products; which is great to see!

I'm definitely looking forward to seeing how the GTRS4 turns out. Gonna be epic!

Sean, any idea on a possible F80 M3 Widebody Kit? If nothing planned, could it be done on a case-by-case basis?

I can already anticipate that the rear end on this car will NOT look good... too wide IMO !!! but I do appreciate the work and art behind the project.

now the front fender looks GOOD...

Wow, just Wow! Amazing! I wasn't a big fan of the previous widebody kit(e92) but I love how they incorporated the current design characteristics.
