Does anyone have this trim with the Electronic Steering wheel v1, which had partial alcantara on the 9 and 3 portion of the wheel?
I'm thinking my alcantara is starting to wear down a bit a get a touch shiny and the alctantara trim piece would stand out (since it's not really touched by hands). |

I would recommend (now that I have completed the switch starting with this option and moving to removing the airbag) going with the airbag removal process. It is very simple to remove and makes this job an infinite amount easier. The multi-function buttons on the right of the steering wheel have wiring that comes from behind the airbag and without removing the airbag, these wires have almost ZERO slack making it very difficult to actually get the screws out of this side to remove the buttons. Second, the stock silver and black trim has the buttons connected to each side with two screws each, one on the top and bottom. The Alcantara trim only has ONE hole at the top so each side has a screw left over. Make sure to not put the bottom screws in on either side because this is where the two side torx screws go in from the back of the wheel.
