BMW is the 3rd most valuable automotive company in the world (and 12th most valuable of all companies), according to Interbrand's Top 100 Brands list for 2012. Interbrand is a leading branding consulting agency.

So how does Interbrand calculate value and compile its list? According to them:

Interbrand's methodology looks at the ongoing investment and management of the brand as a business asset.

This means that our methodology takes into account all the many ways in which a brand touches and benefits its organization -- from attracting and retaining talent to delivering on customer expectations. The final value can then be used to guide brand management, so businesses can make better, more informed decisions. There are three key aspects that contribute to the assessment:

-- The financial performance of the branded products or services.
-- The role of brand in the purchase decision process.
-- The strength of the brand.

Garage List
2013 BMW  [0.00]
This list sounds iffy, VW should be at the top with Toyota 2nd and BMW 3rd.

No one here seems to appreciate Toyota engineering, which is really sad.

Toyota's aren't bad vehicles at all, at least they can make it to 100,000 miles without any major maintenance. But performance wise, they pretty much lack in every aspect, guess it's a give and take... ID rather have my performance over reliability

Toyota Has Reason to Be #1

We know from nascar that Toyota can make a high performance vehicle. They also have a wide price range, so they can be more valuable in almost every country in the world.

I know most everyone in the forum hates to see it, but yeah Benz beat Bimmer.

Haha. You clearly have never been on a bus.

I'd get a pink prius before I got a bus pass!

They just lack excitement.

Ideal would be a BMW made by Toyota and service by Lexus dealers.

And yet my resale is shit on a 9 month old car... I'm not buying it. My Acura held its value 100 times better.
