Trunk/Boot, Why gray?

Am I the only one that is considering changing the colour of the interior in my trunk?
I find the gray trunk-interior extremely boring and cheap in a way, because BMW just made that colour standard in all their trunks(e92, I don't know about the e90?)
If the car was silver/gray on the exterior I would understand it, but I have a black car and I don't think it is nice to open the trunk and find this gray everyday!!! Or even worse if you have a red car, this trunk would just look out of place.
It doesn't match the car!

What's the easiest way to change the color? Paint?

THIS IS WHAT BMW DESERVES

the trunks are all gray. IMO the gray hides the dirtiness pretty well, idk why you would want to change it. It's closed 99% of the time...

lol is it that big of a deal? You put stuff in it and close it. Its not like you sit in there and have to look at it while driving the car...

Its easier to see if you put black things in there. If it was black everything black would just blend in.

idk what you'd replace it with.. I can't imagine anything else in its place but you could make a trip to a local craft/hobby store. I'm sure you can find some fabric to wrap it with.

Looking forward to pics of a cf wrapped trunk!!!

You can take off the panels and just dye them to whatever color you want, we'll the fabric part. The plastic parts you can spray. I honestly don't even go into my trunk all that much.

My e91 has a black cargo area to go with the black leather interior. I have to clean it weekly because every little speck of dirt shows up against the black. My e90 gets the trunk cleaned like once a year.

You talk as though your car is a Rolls Royce or Bentley. It is a BMW 3-series for cripe's sake.

Whatever you do, just remember to discuss it first with the trunk monkey. But seriously, I wouldn't tamper with it. It's just a trunk.

Honestly I don't really care myself, it's just because I like modifying my car so it looks nice, and atm I've kinda run out of things to do, so I thought about this trunk thing and just wanted to know if it was an easy thing to do (like buying some fabric spray paint and just spraying it on).

(I get kinda bored with my cars if I don't change stuff on them)
