they also have a decent cold bite, so I wouldn't say they're dangerous or sub-optimum at all for street use. another thing I like about the RS29's is that they're endurance pads - not a sprint pads - so they last long and don't eat through rotors like Hawk DTC 70's do.
I'm curious about this. After testing and finding the limits of the stock pads, I'm now on the advice of BimmerHaus getting Hawk DTC 70s, which they recommend because they won't chew up the rotors like Pagid or Hawk HP+. Did you have a different experience?

I've done about 5 days on the pagids and love them. A bit of a high pitched squeal on the street but flawless at the track. I can't emphasize enough the importance of good brakes and pads as going from the speeds your speaking of, 140 , pads and fluid won't matter. Road America took care of that for me, was running hawk pads and motul fluid (if I remember correctly, which I probably don't ) and still fried the brakes there. If your serious go for a BBK other than that, there's only so much pads and fluid can do on the stock setup. Good luck

DTC 60 and 70's do wear away the rotors a bit quicker than the oem pads when used below their operating temperatures, but not nearly at the rate of say...Hawk Blues.

DTC 60 and 70's will be a track pad, which you shouldn't really be using on the street anyway, but when they are warmed up they work great.

Have a look at the Ferodo DS2500, they are a "Club Sport" pad and work great for the street and for medium track duty.

Harold, how about the Ferado DS3000? I think they're cheaper than the PF01's?

Anyone compare them to PF01's?

DS3000's are cheaper for the ST40 and ST60 calipers than the PFC01's. As far as I know DS3000's aren't available for the M3 oem pad shape yet, but DS2500's are.

Thanks Harold.

Just wondering if anyone could comment on how the DS3000 compare to the PF01's or DTC 60/70 for a moderate track person. Are they rotor rotor friendly? Is the dust corrosive or hard to get off?

Thanks.

Run the PFC01s, or 06s, or 08s.

The DTC70/60 combo is a pretty agressive setup. You need to get some heat into them

I used DS3000 up front and DS2500 out back on my E46 M3 for track days and ran DS2500 all around for street.
If the dust from the DS3000 get wet, say good bye to your finish. The dust is harder to get off and can leave small flakes on your wheels and fenders.

How would you get the dust off then? Or is it you can't let them get wet and then dry?
Thanks for the feedback.

Don't let it get wet and dry.
Getting it went then washing it off is fine.

My old M3 was Topaz Blue and you if you looked really close, you could see some flakes in my fenders.
I probably would not buy the DS3000s again. The DS2500 though are amazing dual purpose pads.

So the 2500's worked fine at the track? I don't need super aggresive pads like the DTC 70 since I'm still learning.
Thanks again.

Yes, they sure are. By far, the DS2500 is my most popular Ferodo compounds. My customers with E9x M3's and Brembo setups like them a lot. 135i and 335i guys are starting to use these as well.

Just installed a set today for a 335i with ST40/ST60 calipers. If this person does a review, I'll be sure to post the link here.

They are a dusty pad, but I did not noticed any finish damage with these.
Also, they need to be bedded in properly, or can be a bit noisy.

I use to travel a lot with the old M3, and I would usually make the effort where ever I was to get in a track day, so I would 99% of the time use DS25000 all around, note it did have a full Brembo set up.

They should be just fine, especially since you have a ST BBK.
But its hard to say since I don't know how hard you are on brakes....so just take that as a note of caution.

There were fine for me though.

Martin,
I'm gonna get some PF pads per your advice, want a dedicated track pad to change out for events. 01s or 06s? 06 wear longer supposedly, but do they cost more? I have stock rotors, SS lines, and Motul. Thoughts?

After 10 days, I have to disagree about street use, as even when squeakless-cold the DTC70s are at least as grippy as OEM pads. Once warm they're sensational!

I went with these pads to be kind to the rotors. Except for maybe ducting, anything beyond will be a BBK, with the OEM set in dry storage. Meanwhile I plan to throw the OEM pads back on this winter.
