Question Really stupid problem for a new car!

Hello everyone!

I didn't intend this to be my introduction thread but I need solutions

I forcibly migrated from the E46 world when my '05 330xi was totalled by a flood... I picked up a 2011 335i MSport beginning of June in New Jersey and drove it back to Ohio. Along the way, the front tow hook cover fell off.

So I replaced it with a new primered one and got it painted. I waited two weeks for shipping/paint. I got it, installed it and was planning to take pictures this weekend for all of you. I had it for TWO DAYS and now the is gone again!

I see that some other BMWs have a plastic tag which prevents it from being completely detached. I absolutely never had this issue with the E46. Is this a common problem on facelift E90s?

Anyone found any solutions to this issue? Replacing this little thing every few weeks is not an option due to time and cost.

Thanks for any advice!

That's kind of funny. You could use some clear double sided tape on the outter edges to keep it in place.

How does a tow hook cover just "fall off"? I had to PRY the crap out of mine when I took it off to run my tow-hook mounted license plate. I don't see how it would just fall off. Maybe you didn't install it all the way? Push it in until you hear it snap into place? Hmm. From your sig I see your car is TiAg.... if you don't mind a BSM tow hook cover I have one that I could send you. I'm not going to use it since I'm required to have a front plate. Or...... you could get a tow hook mounted front plate and not have to worry about a missing tow hook cover.

My uria tank cover fell off when I went through a touchless car wash once, so I can see it happening with a towhook cover. Granted, the uria tank cover is attached to the bumper with a plastic string/ziptie thing so it wasn't lost.
