Is this a fair deal?
Hey guys,
I am looking to buy a new 328i Coupe with the following configuration: 6 Spd M/T Sparkling Graphite Black Leatherette Brushed Aluminium Trim Sport Pkg. Logic 7 Sound Power Seats (as a standalone option) Comfort Access System ipod and USB adapter I got an offer from an out of state dealer in MI(I live in KS, only one local dealer here) He is offering me $500 under Invoice which comes to the following: Invoice = $38070 - $500 = $37570-sell price $37570 $180 – doc fee $2265 – 6% sales tax $40015 + plates Does this sound like a fair deal or can I get a better one?(I am feeling greedy here) Also, I am confused about spending $3,300 for the Premium package instead of just getting the Power seats as an option($995). But, that shoots my car price up by another $2300 though there are a few extra things like leather seats, lumbar support, ASSIST and auto-dimming mirrors I get. But are they really worth spending for or should I stick with my original configuration above. Any suggestions will help me |

Personally I think leather seats alone are with the 2K... and the auto dimming mirrors are real nice (I think you get auto on headlights and rain sensing wipers as well)
That soulds like a good deal to me but the 3 series specific forum would probably have the best answer If the dealership just offered it there is a good chance they will go lower if you have not negotiated much.

No leather is needed, leatherette is just fine.
500 under the invoice is unbeatable deal. I love the options, nothing else is needed IMO. I also think the premium may gove you Blootooth option (go on bmwusa.com and check) For the other poster -- AUTO lights and rain sensing wipers come with every 3er (in the USA)... |

Yes, I knew about the Bluetooth. But do I need to go for the premium package at all or just stick with Sport,Power seats and Logic7 Sound and leave the ZPP out?

it is simple, why waste $$$ if you don't need the options.
THe only thing I regret was Xenons... I only got the ZSP and nothing else. THe 3er is made for performance ride, not luxury...all I needed is the tranny, steering wheel, seats and wheels... Premium Package $3,350 • Auto-dimming interior and exterior mirrors -- maybe useful 2% of time • Digital compass mirror -- maybe useful 2% of time • Lumbar support -- could be useful, not to me • BMW Assist with Bluetooth System -- could be useful, not to ,e • Power front seats with driver seat memory -- he already has it • Universal Garage Door Opener -- whatever... • Leather -- whatever |

are you ordering this car? if so i guess it all comes down to lumbar support and autodimming mirrors - they should all be standalone options when ordering a car anyway. Otherwise it might be hard to find the exact options you want sitting on a lot. Leatherette is easy to clean and i doubt it wears as much as leather if you're thinking about down the road
for me Assist was a necessary option, since starting July 1 here in LA talking on your cell phone while driving will be illegal - yes people in LA ARE that stupid so i say sounds like a good deal. i wonder if theres any incentives on this car right now? take the deal and ask him to throw in a free M steering wheel and shift knob or something if he's not willing to move on the price... since you're feeling greedy and all |

Thanks to all you guys!
Thanks for all your replies guys!
Good news is that I was able to close in on a similar price(about$ 250 more) with my local dealer itself. I am going to ask them to match the MI dealer's price and throw in a couple of accessories(I doubt if they will do this, but you never know when you get lucky) I am going to talk to them over the weekend and come to a deal. Thanks again to all you guys for your suggestions! |

Don't really need the power seats, manuals work just fine. You can get the bluetooth as an individual option like this: BMW Assist with Bluetooth System $750 If you have to have power seats etc., might as well get the package, it's a better buy.

ok, it doesn't sound like a good deal to me. I paid 38,300 for my 328i and it has b0th premium and sport packages, auto trans and heated seats and sirius sat radio.

So, then according to the numbers, you must have gotten 3000 under the invoice? Or the OP has wrong numbers?

I had leatherette and loved it. No regrets. One suggestion I had was to consider bluetooth since you want manual transmission. I think this option is nice and could cost a lot to retrofit later. This should not stop you from buying though. Good luck

Hello guys!
Good news... I brought my local dealer down to $37,500 with the options I wanted. I am going to go in today and see if I can make it $37,000. If not, $37,500 might still be a good deal according to what most of you have said. Thank you very much folks! I am so excited that the feeling of booking my first bimmer hasn't sunken in yet! |
