Question Wheels with differnt size front/rear on a XDrive

I want to change the wheels on my 528i XDrive. I love wheels wider on the rear. But my tire specialist said that for AWDs it is not good to have wider tires on the rear. She also said that don't go with R19, go either R18 or R20.
Any thoughts, facts, referenced reasons?
my plan:
Front: 245/35/R19 or R20
Rear: 275/30/R19 or R20

Interested in the outcome, but I question the reasoning on not putting on 19s -- they are part of the M-package.

You can go wider on the rear. There is nothing wrong with that even on AWD. The main factor is the tire diameter has to match front and rear. If the diameters are different this will affect the AWD system. Also you can run 19s there is no reason not to. Factory M sport BMWs come with 19s with wider rear wheels/tires

Thanks, So I'll go for it. I'll share the photos after installing the wheels.

The size you should run is 245/40/R19 , 275/35/r19. Don't do 35 and 30 profils

Ye, You are right. That's the way I should go. I saw many options with these profiles.

does putting same size tires all around alter any suspension dynamics? I am also looking to get 19s or 20s, but I have staggered M sport wheels and was adviced by local tire shop that it would be better to put same size tires/wheels so I can rotate them and give me a longer tire life.

I have a 535 x drive with a staggered set up.... "They say its not good to go staggered on FWD" but I have had no issues and no difference in ride quality. I'd definitely recommend it

I too have a staggered set up and xDrive and have had no issues at all. Just a couple of things to consider.

You will go through tires faster because you will not be able to rotate them front to rear.

IF you don't ensure diameter is the same front to rear your AWD will go nuts and you will get error codes.

There is actually no practical reason to have a staggered set up with AWD because you will never have oversteer issues (which is why RWD vehicles used staggered set ups sometimes).

However, I do like the look of the staggered setup which is why I have it!!

+1, I did 285/35/19 for the rears, not an x-drive though

Here in Europe, xDrives are delivered from factory with staggered wheels, so i'm sure it's ok.
My F10 530d xDrive has staggered 20" styling 356.

Michelin PSS

I'm hoping to put on a set of Michelin PSS on my 550 xdrive. I live in the NYC metro area so I'm going to stick with 19's.

I'd like to put 265/40/19 on front which have an outside diameter of 27.4 inches and use 295/35/19 on back which have a 27.1 outside diameter. Are these diameters close enough for the xdrive system not to malfunction?

Any feedback or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I'm obviously concerned about rubbing but hoping that if I get the correct off-sets i'll be good.

I can't see any reason you'd have any issues with those sizes. 3/10 of an inch shouldn't cause issues. Also if you don't have your car dropped at all, you shouldn't be concerned with rubbing as long as your offset is less than 40 I'd say on the rear and less than 37 on the front. You may have more room on that though, I'm not an F10 expert. I think most of the F10 owners on here stick to somewhere between 30 and 40 for the rear and 22 - 35 on the front. (The smaller the number, the further away from the inside of your wheel well). It depends on the width of wheel you are running.

I have a similar question. What is the proper wheel and tire measurements for 19 and 20" respectively on the F10 XDrives?
