2007 or 2008 335i

Plan on purchasing a 2007 or 2008 335i in February. I found a wholesaler that has 2008 335i cars for about $33k - I spoke with them and they mentioned they buy cars from California that have had the fuel pumps replaced. In Cali, many cars have been returned so the price drops (does that make sense and should I be wary of this)? Just not positive what I should be looking for, but if under warranty still, I imagine it's not a big issue?

I think the $4k delta from 2007 and 2008 is worth the money? First time buying a BMW - any suggestions appreciated!

Fundamentally they are exactly the same, so you will have to judge based on price, condition, mileage, options, etc. Assuming that these things are all the same and mileage was low I would be inclined to go for the 2008 for the extra year of warranty.

2008.
Just because of unreliability of 2007 models.

It you are looking at E92 (coupe), I would say don't even think about the 2007's
The E92 from 2007 were plagued with electrical problems such as the infamous tail light issue in addition to the very well documented waste gate rattle issues and fuel pumps

If you are looking at cars with I-Drive, then again go for 2008 since they have the shortcut buttons which are very useful

if you are looking at E90 (sedan) without Idrive, then it doesn't really matter

Thanks everyone for the comments. I have to see what I can actually get for the price as it looks 2007 = 2008. I had thought of the 2008 for the extra warranty, but will eventually need to buy the ext warranty anyways so maybe buying the 2007 + ext warranty is the way to go.
