You think the college kids are not playing for the money down the road? Or even now with all the free stuff they get? C'mon man!

That's still very different than pros.

watch NCAAF... i find watching college football more exciting than NFL... more so because the bay area teams suck.

Sorry but there's no regular season NFL environment that rivals OSU vs UofM when both are having a good year. All big rivalries are like that too. The NFL doesn't have anything that can touch that atmosphere and animosity (except for Raiders fans in general).

Werd, and every game is very important. One loss and chances are you are not going to the ncs.

college football is so one sided. 90% of the time, the team that should win, does win. By a big difference! NFL season, every sunday, any teams can win. College atmosphere is different, yes, but the NFL games and plays and hits or stats is what people talk about during the week.

Well, you live in PAC-10 country, so it's no surprise that's your impression of college football. That's just the way it is out there. I wouldn't go as far as to say that college football in general is better than the NFL in general, but the NFL really has nothing that can match the atmosphere of the traditional rivalries. However, the NFL does have generally closer games overall with less blow-outs, but that's what's going to happen when you have a grid of 119 teams with continuously refreshed rosters. Just don't watch the giant-vs-peon games and it won't bother you at all. There's almost always a good football game on at every time slot on Saturdays, at least in Big10 country.... Here, we get a conference with a decent amount of parity in the early time slots, and then also great match-ups in the prime time slots. You have all kinds of choices about which games you watch. For the NFL, you have to go to a sports bar more often to catch the good games.

Werd college atmosphere is just ridiculous. 80k+ people going crazy is just nuts. Then after a win going to the local bars is just plain amazing. Nothing else like it here in the states.
