28 Years and counting. I have had my E90 M3 for about two and a half years. I also still have the 2002tii I bought used in High School. Both have been great cars.

31st December 1997 was when I drove off the BMW dealership with my E36 323i. Still have it, its my track whore, but its not going anywhere, so that means its 14 and a bit years with this car?

The X5 has been around 3 years. Same deal, I love it, I'll keep it until its driven into the dust.

M3 so far has been about 6 months?

12 yrs and counting. Strictly a summer car 2001 330. So far This is what I've fixed( I've done all the work myself so its kept the cost down.) 3 sets of brakes, 1 alternator ,1 set of belts . 1 cam positioning sensor. put new slides on the sunshade for the sunroof.1 new air intake( had a very small tear in it. The car would start idling odd while it was sitting. The exhaust manifold would be throwing so much heat, it would just be sucking hot air.) Of all the things listed, replacing the air intake was the biggest pain in the a$$. Only because of how the C clamps were put on. They were tough to get at.. The alternator is an easy job ,except parts of the radiator hoses needing to be taken out. But they are all Orings with quick connector clips. So it all comes apart and and goes together easy .All in all I don't think this car has been any more expensive (parts wise) to own. Now if you had to take it to the shop thats a different story. Cost for me to do my brakes all the way around(rotors, pads, sensor) was close to $400. The dealer wanted $1400. Cam positioning sensor was the biggest joke. The dealer wanted $1900. My cost for the part was $140 , if I remember correctly

Um, I have only put 17,000 miles on it since I bought it for a total of 104,000.

This is my first one, have owned it for almost 1.5 years now. It's been about as perfect as a car could be. Only issue I've had with it is a burned out turn signal bulb. Other than shitty gas mileage (gotta pay to play right?), this car is truly one of the most coolest awesomest dopest cars I have ever had the pleasure of owning.

Had my 02 E-46 for a little more than 9 years and 135K. Total maintenance cost over that time was maybe $2500, excluding new tires.

Intend to keep my New E-90 equally long unless I go first or gas goes to ten per gallon, in which case I will be driving a Prius.

When I enjoy a car, I see no point in not keeping it unless it starts to fall apart. That was starting to happen to the E-46, which is the only reason i traded it in. But I am middle aged and have no reason why I need impress anybody with a new car every few years. Additionally, BMW's tend to age very well appearance and paint wise.

Got an '88 E30 325e in our stable. Bought it as a demo back in Jan 1989.
Still runs like a champ.
