Lowered car haters

Is it just me or does everyone HATE people who drive slammed cars. I constantly have to slow down, change lanes, sideway speedbumps/ ramps, go around potholes. I get horns daily, middle fingers, and angry old people. I guess some people just dont understand what we go through and mistake us for drunk drivers...

Well, we drive BMW's not honda civics, so who cares what they think. We paid premium for our cars, and well damn well take great care of it at any costs.

Hahah i do this on stock suspension as well! There is this sector on the Bronx river parkway south before the Sheridan Expressway, where there are these drains for the water ( they are right on this little bridge) and they feel like bumps, speed limit is 35 there and i always slow down to 30-35 in the right lane. People always get in my ass and start honking and flashing their lights. They fly by with like 60mph there like there is not a limit for that zone.

Yes, if you slow me down like that, I do hate you. Sorry, nothing personal.

Going around potholes and other road hazards is common sense, but if you have to dodge "everyday" things like speed bumps and ramps that's annoying as hell.

They ruin the value of a car? They look silly because a racing application is being used on the street? I dunno.

I've never understood the point of lowering a street car. Maybe it might look cooler, but extra slow driving ruins the whole point. Yeah, yeah, lower center gravity. It doesn't matter because now you have to drive 20mph slower.

It appears that you've lowered the car to the point of being unsafe.

There is one thing if you slow down for potholes (or change lanes to avoid them altogether if there is no traffic,) but if you have to almost come to a stop to go over a manhole cover or go across a speedbump sideways then your car is not roadworthy.

At that point your car no longer looks "cool." You just look like a selfish brat.

People don't hate lowered cars, they hate people who drive like assholes and inconvenience everyone else. And that usually comes with with lowered cars. People who swerve around every single stupid thing in the road because they have a car that they decided to lower are annoying. You can still have a lowered car and not drive like a complete douche.

speed bumps shouldn't be that high so my car scrapes.

why do you need coilovers to race? my car's value hasn't changed a bit.

You car is definitely too low. I had my E36 M3 on KW v2 coilovers and swore that I would never buy coilovers again. Even set as soft as possible, they were just too harsh for daily driving. Even worse, I set my height higher than you and still scraped on everything. I actually couldn't use my car if I knew we were headed to a part of town that had higher speedbumps or bad driveways.

It drove great on the track though. But it wasn't worth it for those couple of days a year.

There is a big difference between lowered and slammed. Lowered to cut a little of the gap between the fender and top of the tire is OK imo. But slammed to where the tire is under the fender just doesn't look good or make sense imo. But I don't hate them by any means.

I just don't think BMW's should be lowered. PERIOD. Hell my E90 is already low enough without putting springs on it, it seems like every car I pull up next to is sitting higher than mine.

Yep - I've always thought that a similar gap all the way around the wheel looks best.

if speed bumps scrape your car, its not road worthy.
