Concord BMW...amazing service
Hey guys,
Got my 07 335i about a month and a half ago and have been thrilled with it ever since. it has 27k miles and is still under warranty. about a week ago i began hearing the infamous waste gate rattle and proceeded to read the entire 29.2 sticky and every thread associated with this problem. Armed with printouts from this forum along with BMW north America's statement i went into concord bmw and asked them to replace the waste gate hardware with NO software updates (i am running 29.1) and wanted no de tuning of the car that i bought. Tim was my SA and at first i thought that i was going to have a battle on my hands, as he immediately knew what the problem was yet encouraged me to get the updated software. I insisted that i talk to the master tech at the shop and have them do a drive with me so they could hear how bad the noise was. They then said that they would have to go through BMWNA because they needed clearance to replace the hardware. Two days went by and i didn't hear anything. They said the bmwNA rep was traveling and did i mind leaving the car in the shop for 2 more days. of course i minded but decided to try and stick through till the end. Then i got a call from the master tech(pm me for info amazing guy) and he said he had personally been on the phone recommending that BMW replace the hardware i wanted free of charge. Took two more days but they called me friday and said the car was running perfectly, rattle free and i could pick it up whenever i wanted to. They even through in a detail and a complimentary sunshade(not a big deal but ust a little touch) Suffice to say that I will be going back to concord in the future for all of my car needs and i encourage anybody there to talk to tim/ robert(tech) they were amazingly helpful, treated me in a highly respectful and sympathetic manner and best of all the car is running with no rattle and NO power loss. i would like to say thank you to all the gus who posted in the 29.2 lag fix thread as their albiet terrible experiences really enabled me to go into the dealership ready and knowing exactly what i needed done to my car. |
