Or we can update here faster and for MUCH less than the dealer charges. Contact me directly for details.

So this update does nothing for a MT M3?

It fixed a DCT issue I understand (that was one way of people getting it done under warranty)...but the power gains are felt by all transmissions.

edit: assuming there are actual gains. Some speculate the reflash causes resetting of parameters that yield higher horsepower. If you go away for a couple weeks and drive after the car has learned stuff, then come back to dyno; no one believes the dyno's are accurate comparisons.

The 15-20hp increase due to the software update is warranted and legitimate.
This is more likely true if both of you were on the same Dyno Dynamics and both runs were reported in the same mode with the same settings. I assume that was the case?

Affirmative. Same shop, same settings, same day. My car was first one in, his was next. Temperature was 55'F. 10 am in the morning.

So what are the issues with DCT that the 240e upgrade would fix? My car might be having some of those problems.

240E is the software version for the DME (engine ECU), not DCT (Transmission).

There is no way to tell if improvements are expected without knowing your current software version.
