In all seriousness, in most cases, the lowering can come with a slight decrease in body roll and there may be some increase in handling precision - but - only .000000000001% of the owners will ever have the ability to take advantage of those advantages. Sometimes, appearances are improved, but sometimes too much lowering just looks goofy. |

There are certain things that I just don't get but the people who do it are very passionate about it and since it is their money and their car I respect their decision.
1. Installing huge rims and lowering a car and screwing up the handling and drivability in the interest of style. 2, Insatllling a trick suspension to make a car hop/ 3. Installing a sound system that goes so loud that you have to stand away from the car with a remote control and place a SPL meter in the car to show how loud it goes.

So BMW did something wrong by selling a performance suspension system that lowers the car .5 inches?

The half inch drop isn't usually enough for the guys on this board though. Some are only happy if manhole covers rip their oilpan open. |

90% of the street cars that are lowered have done so, sacrificing the main thing they are trying to achieve - handling. Unless you also adjust other geometry in the cars suspension, you are just kidding yourselves. I am always amused by people making these mods for thousands of dollars, swerving around potholes, going diagonally over speed bumps, yet on a track they will be slower than someone with a stock suspension.

Let's get back on topic.
I don't think anyone hates owners of lowered cars. What we hate is people that drive badly - either because they are bad drivers or because they've modified their cars so that they can't safely drive on normal streets at the speed of traffic. We don't care why they are a hazard to other motorists - we just want you to drive like a normal person. |

What? You mean the cheap swill 85 octane from the 'no-name" gas station isn't good enough for my slammed ride? I spent all my money looking cool - why should I bother with stuff like gas or oil. Cheap gas won't cause problems for me anyway because I flip my car when lease is up or when the noisy suspension starts driving me nuts.

I can see it for handling
But when you look at some of these cars and obvious they didn't put in a camber kit it kind of makes me wonder what they were thinking.

lowering your car is awesome. if you have a problem with the way it feels you are a women or a 50 year old man. the only time its annoying is for ramps but if your a good driver thats not a big deal
