Anyone know how commercial plates work?
So I am looking to buy a van for personal use, just need something with more space. I found one I liked, but it has decals and lettering from the company of the guy who is selling it.
Now, I'll probably just end up taking it off - but if I left it on (It's not that huge of an area) would I then be required to have commercial plates? I'm in NJ. Anyone have experience with this? |

What you put on your car is your business. What you use it for is the registries business so it won't matter if you leave them on or not.
Also why would you leave them on, that's free advertising for his business...

check with your dmv, but "commercial" registration probably refers to the type of vehicle, not what it is used for.
