Smile Winter tires would 225/50R16 fit on BMW 325i?

Hi guys,

I have 4 16" Michele X-Ice Snow tires in excellent condition on rims (two years old) -- precisely they are: 225/50R16. The question is, would these tires fit my BMW 2005 325i which currently has RFTs that are: 205/50R16?

Can also someone explain how these numbers work? I know R16 means 16". But no idea about the 205/50R part.

Thanks in advance guys!

Farhan

Currently, your car should have 205/55R16, not 205/50R16. Yes, 225/50R16 will work with no problem.

Hi Gary,

Thank you for responding. You're 100% right. The car currently has 205/55R16.

Now I can put on my winter tires.

Take care.

205 is the width of the tire. 55 is the tire height as a percentage of that width.

Garage List
They will fit fine and are the same diameter as your original tires (24.86 inches compared to 24.88 inches) as per the chart on top of this page.
