Warning on Retrofit DIY Alarm kit

Hey guys,
Just want to warn anyone considering to get a DIY Alarm kit.

For my 2008 128i, I purchased mine from Tisher/getbmwparts.com ( great service and fast delivery).

However, perhaps due to the latest BMW software for 128i, the Siren in the kit part# 65759124581 was not recognized! Instead an e90 Sedan siren part #65756948392 was requested by the BMW computers!! I saw the computer readout my self.

I spent a week going back and forth with the dealership to activate my existing alarm kit. Ended up paying extra for the e90 Siren.
After that it was pogrammed correctly, works great.

Call your dealer/installer before you purchase and consult recent retrofit cases.

Weird, I too have a '08 128i and I had no problems with the standard E82 alarm retrofit kit. I don't, however, know the specific part # for the siren used in the kit I purchased from Tischer.

I had the install this month. Perhaps under different software or w.e strange BMW computer magic it would be different.

I received a conflicting email from Tisher that suggests that my dealer did not do all they could do to have the kit work. Apparently there is a manual override by BMW america/Canada support office technicians when car is connected via internet to their office.

I will post an update if I have time to deal with the headache again, as i now have a siren that is useless to 99% owners without kit.

This exact situation happened in our shop. The issue was resolved when BMW remotely programmed the vehicle through our shop when the vehicle was hooked up through the internet. The siren does not need to be replaced as this is a programming issue.

Thank you, I appreciate the informative support I have received from Jason and Tisher.

As I understand this was handled through a PUMA case?
