I saw this over on M3Post after eAs made a custom AiB set for a white M5 at SEMA. Tom hinted something that sounds like these might go into production.

This is the custom amber LUX H8 set that DimSum received:

And a really over-exposed cell phone pic of them installed:

Upgrade program - I know a lot of people have been asking about that. The biggest difference between the LUX H8 V2 and V3 is the upgraded power supply. the physical unit is very similar and does not need to get changed.

What i might do for an upgrade program is give 2 options: purchase the new power supplies with a Very simple DIY kit ( requires soldering 2 wires), Or allow users to send their units to me to install the power supply. I'll see what is best and take it from there. More info to come.

Will these power supplies be hidden in the headlight or it will be like the current lux and AiB kit where you have to put the power supply outside the headlight with the fuse.

What makes these power supplies different than the previous one that made the recall due to 1 set blowing up in the headlight. Not to remind you of the previous ones but just curious what makes it better that it won't fail like the last one.

The 1-series headlights are made by a different manufacturer and therefor are designed differently. I have tested the LUX H8 in them and while they do fit and do work, they do not look great. The design of the angel eye system in the 1-series is very different and also very strange, making it difficult to make the inner and outer ring look good.

No no no. the new power supplies will be small and tucked away inside the headlight. There will be no need no have any wires outside the headlight. The LUX H8 v3 as been designed to look much cleaner after the install process

These new power supplies are made by a company who specialized in LED power supplies, and they have custom designed one for me that will work specifically for this application. They have designed it to be extremely robust and can withstand all of the nuances and stresses of being in a automotive application.

Good grief! I think I see my emitters somewhere in there. Are those all "Gs?" I didn't know they were packaged that way.

No Problem - the LUX E90 5.1 use a newer style LED and a slightly modified designed. It produces more light then the 5.0's. Due to the design of the e90 angel eyes it hard to see the difference in the brightness change though

if you read the second post in this thread it states:

"The web site is currently under construction and many features are not working on it yet, so please be patient.
- Pre-orders will begin later this month, with shipping dates expected for 3/1/11"

not sure how much clearer that needs to be...
