Going for #2
We'll be putting another F25 into the stable. First up was my dad's Space Gray x28i from MY2011. It was lightly loaded with Premium package, roof rails, and black leatherette.
With the arrival of my son and move out to a new home soon, we definitely need more room than what my A4 offers but not so big that my wife will have trouble maneuvering it... she wasn't interested in a minivan anyway. So, this week we've put in an order for a 2013 x28i, and should arrive in the next three weeks. It's also Space Gray lol.. but this time black nevada leather, Premium, Executive package, and rails. I did get a pretty awesome lease deal. I do intend on keeping this one forever so on one hand it's cheap financing when we buy it out and on the other hand, there's an exit strategy if this doesn't pan out. Dealer also threw in free wear and tear insurance for the duration of the lease. Wife and I did want to shoot for a White on Havanna but nothing was available with the equipment we wanted and couldn't wait for a new build (plus the loss of the February incentives). Still happy with the choice however. Can't wait! I'll add pics of the twins in a few weeks |

Pretty generous of the dealer to throw in free wear and tear insurance! Which dealer did you go to?

Two of my buddies have their bikes serviced at that dealership and they live in the burbs. They swear by the service there.

Sorry for the delay, but here are the pics of the 2013 with another pic infront of its father! lol.
"Mods" so far are Pinnacle ceramic tint, 30% on the front windows and 40% over the privacy tints on the rear. I've also taken it in for OptiCoat. Last pic, image of my two 2.0T's. 1600kms on the N20 so far. It's pretty decent. Happy with it, although I do hope the mileage will improve over time. I've had the chance to drive the N20 back to back with my dad's N52. I find that the 2011 is more tank-like, steering heavy, and a very planted/deliberate in its movement. The 2013 is light on its feet, a bit more neutral but the feeling is more remote. Interesting how the Driving Experience selector changes things. |

Rolled past 2000 kms this weeekend, and its only my third wash I think.
The premium audio (12 speaker) has definitely broken in after initial use. It sounds much better now. I'm also opening up the engine every so often and it's a great little unit. Pretty thirsty though as can be observed in my fuelly icon in signature (avg 11.3L/100km, even with moderated mixed driving). I can hear the turbo (diverter valve?) whistle off throttle on the freeway, only showed up this week, perhaps due to warmer temperatures? Nits and nags: 1-the power tailgate refuses to latch some times, 2-the engine restarts itself sometimes (battery charge? a/c compressor kicking in?), 3-the stupid RANDOM feature on the media player resetting itself. 4-subwoofers "pop" on main ignition. Likely due to sequence of power up (should be amps before subs, not the other way around). Just watch them blow after warranty expires. 5-I've also observed the car shut itself off completely if I've popped it into Neutral, seat belt off, door open, Auto Stop kicked in, and need to press the Ignition for a restart (ie when reaching for a gate fob reader). Last bit probably is not a gremlin, but a programming trait that we have to live with. Last edited by pokerface; 05-21-2013 at 10:46 PM.. |
