I like the clutch better on the f8x and the throws were smoother with a little shorter of a throw.. I'm going 6mt if I order an F80 m3.

hows tranny a 7/10? you get the option of a manual and in terms of auto transmissions, this current DCT is better than any of the competitors transmissions (RS5, C63, e92 M3...etc). I guess if you compare it to Porsche's PDK then it might not beat that but its pretty damn good
ditto what people said here about reviewing the ceramics...it seemed like his main gripe was the cost. he kind of failed to realized that most people aren't getting ceramics. if you are getting ceramic brakes then you personally value them 10/10 if its worth spending 8k on. and if you arent, why review the cost aspect in making the decision to rate them. maybe they still are an 8/10 but not for the reasons he stated. 9/10 here for me, especially compared to the previous M3's brakes handling and comfort are def 9/10 or even 10/10 for me. it feels so smooth in comfort mode and i'm sure if we put on econo tires or something more comfortable, and if the car didn't have as much road and wind noise, it would be up there with a luxury sedan in terms of road feel. then when you throw it into sport mode, it feels so planted and stable. the only thing is theres so much power that even with the electronic diff thats in it, i cant seem to put any power down coming out of corners overall kind of wacky review not a fan of it |

i think an F150 with the same features as my car comes in over 55k. yeah i think its a good value unless you buy it for a work truck...then i guess it would suck. back seats do fold down though

Agree on the 6.5 - 7 /10 for the E90 tranny, after CDV and short shift and M knob.

I think some of you are looking at the score of 79 and saying "This car is much better than a C+". It is. but you have to look at how they give these numbers out. Its not a A-F scale, its a number.
Here are some comparable reviews Jalopnik has done with the same scoring system: M3 - 79 Aston Martin Vantage: 82 Camero SS 1LE: 71 Accord Hybrid: 67 Maserati Ghibli: 73 Hyundai Equus: 64 WRX STi: 76 BMW 1M Dinan: 67 (WTF?) 918 Spyder: 91 (well deserved) Here is the top 10 leaderboard for reference. http://jalopnik.com/the-jalopnik-rev...ard-1518349631 Edit: Other cars with the exact score of 79: Cayman S, GTR, M6.

And reading your signature, you have more invested that a new M costs - to beat an M?

I wasn't too fussed by the overall score (figuring that they probably were pretty low on the grading - which you have now confirmed) but would still quibble on a few of their particular choices (sound and value, as I posted above) Really, the problem with grading an item on a 10 point or 5 point scale is it loses a lot of the subtly when it gets all added up. Is the steering closer to an 8 or a 9? Is 8 fair? is 8.5 better? BUT knowing how it ranks on the whole against other cars (who also suffer the same 'smoothing' of having numbers rounded to the nearest 10%) does make for a useful comparison. edit: 2012 C63 gets a 71. The AMG E63 wagon (which I long time) gets a 74. the 2014 GT-R gets a 79 too. the 79 overall is actually a very good score. Just outside of top 10.

I am in the same boat except e90 not e92. No kids. 4 doors more wh*res . You can easily pack 4 in the rear seats given there's a middle seat in the M3. Granted I don't recommend that but still. It's just easier to pop open a door than it is having a driver or passenger get out and tilting a seat forward. And I personally prefer the looks of the M3. It had a more aggressive look when I saw the two in person prior to ordering a car.

The QX is...um...polarizing. I've loved it since they came out in 2011. I'm more on the bionic Rhino team than the Beluga whale one, but yes the car elicits various and wide-ranging opinions. Step inside and most would agree it has an outstanding interior and is a good option for people that need three rows and size (the arms race in Texas regarding SUV"s is off the charts). I would have traded it in after only 1.5 years, but the wife loves it and it's her weekend car. She has a horrendous Ford Escape company car, don't even get me started on that one. Dealing with Infiniti dealerships on the other hand? Im getting what I deserve.

This is not a "Tuned 335 vs. M3/M4" thread. Let's keep it that way.
We have a specific sub-forum for such discussions. Thanks.

in my eyes E90 M3 was looking more aggressive than the E92 M3. Same again the sedans looks more aggressive than the coupe.
