Base price may be about the same but configured price has gone way up. Example, I got a 2011 e92 328xi for $49,500 with nav, premium, convienience, m-sport and BMW apps. At the time I purchased it I had also configured an e90 with all the same equipment minus xdrive for about $46,000.

Yesterday I configured the f30 the same as I did the the e90 last year and the price came out to $49,500! So yeah, you can get a stripped version for about the same as before but they have greatly increased the price on options packages. An almost $4k bump in price is ridiculous. I love my BMW and was planning on getting another when my lease is up but now I'm not so sure. Might just buy mine or look at another manufacturer I can only imagine how much they're going to charge for the 4 series.
Any thoughts on the price bump anyone?

I am in the market this September for a 335i XDrive.. well at least I was. Look at my local dealer's pricing (USD) on a 2012 335i optioned the way I would like my XDrive:

Don't think I can justify paying over 60k for the vehicle.

Thats an interesting comment. I did not know they didn't own BMWs. I figured Jeremy would definitely have an M3 CSL at a minimum.

Do you think its marketing or maybe BMW is cutting a check for the praise?

Someone in an earlier post on this thread said James may owns a Z4, which sounds reasonable. IDK, they love these cars and yet nobody owns one. Not even an M3 or M5. Just strange. I don't think they are being paid for any opinion nor is the show, which adds weirdness. I just think it's a very strange anomaly.

I think the new 3 series is very nice just like the 5 series but the steering is a deal breaker for true drivers (unless you may extra for M5 which still has hydraulic steering and probably the new M3 too).

I saw the 3 series in person and I was not impressed by uneven gaps on the dash board (see attached picture) and around door trim. Also, the reliability of turbo remains to be seen (already had HPFP issue on my F10/535/N55 and then weird electrical failure within the past 8 months of ownership).
But those "gaps" are part of the design...

I just finished watching Motorweek's latest review of the 328. Here is the summary:

They liked the exterior and loved the new interior.

They commented on how each new model 3 series seems to lose some of it's edge.

It was referred to as a family sports sedan.
Engine was powerful but rough around the edges.
Got 29.9 mpg in their test.
handling was good but ride was softer. (I keep wondering if the softer ride is actually the car or the latest generation of the run-flats.

Overall they seemed to like it a lot.
