Thanks for taking the time to put together this great review.

My lux do the fading off thing when I have the lights on auto, lock the car and walk away. Now if the car is running and I turn them off, they turn off immediately.

There's no difference to all the different instructions posted online, but you can use the Lux ones http://www.luxangeleyes.com.

They're pretty clear.

my pleasure! Cool your LUX does that? I thought all LUX units cannot fade, they just turn on or turn off. Could you show me a video because I would love to have that feature. In the auto setting, the AE's remain on after I shut off the engine, but as soon as I open the door, the AE's turn off immediately as if power is cut; I can't perform the "lock the car and walk away" thing...

here you go: http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=415710
yes as DaBrass said, installation instructions should be the same as long as you have the same LCI Xenon headlights as mine.

I just installed these last night and they look awesome. However they don't seem to be fading for me, they just pop on when I hit the unlock button on my remote. I know they should because the stock halogens did fade in and out before I swapped them to the DTEC's. I messaged E92-lighting and apparently I'm the only one with the issue. He recommended to try different modes. What setting do you have your lights on when you unlock?

Anything is possible, but why would you want to?

Watt per watt, LEDs generate more heat than incandescent halogen bulbs. At a LED that's 30-40watts, you're looking to burn down your car.

Even if it's not a single LED, say 5wx6 LEDs, or 5wx8 LEDs, it still producing an enormous amount of heat that you simply can't dissipate effectively with these headlight design.

You'll basically either have dead LEDs (heat kills) or your car combust in flames.

I installed these Saturday. Mine also look like they don't fade. I'm using the same settings as before I replaced the bulbs, and the fade in/out was very noticeable. I'm thinking that they do fade, but it's a much shorter and less noticeable. I'll have to check again.

Gaifaun...I really like the pics...I just purchased a 2009 AW and wanted to confirm a few of the mods that you did. Those are glossy or matte black front grille? Also what have you done to the front bumper? lastly, you did glossy black vinyl on the roof?

Thanks Man

Daylight doesn't seem to be so great. It was overcast when I took the picture. Also seems a bit blue during the day. Nighttime looks great though.

I also had a chance to check out the dimming feature. Seems like it's very quick compared to the slow fade in/out from stock bulbs.

Yes they do fade. They're LED's so the fading will never be as fluid and gradual as halogen bulbs but they fade nonetheless

if you want fading, you would want to switch it to "A" mode which is all the way to the left, the automatic mode.

I think that your photo looks normal for daytime. The Cree lights look pretty good for the price.
