Onboard Computer Displaying Accurate Maintenance Schedules?
I just recently bought an e92 two weeks ago with 13k miles on it and I was looking through the iDrive menu at the Vehicle Info screen. Is the service information accurate?
It says my brake pads only need to be changed in 41,000 more miles and the other maintenance items are all displaying very high amount of miles before needing to be replaced. Does this information change dynamically according to your driving conditions or is it a fixed number set by BMW? |

Oh wow. So my concern is with getting the Maintenance Program Upgrade. My Manufacturer warranty expires in March of 2015 (next year) and I've received quotes from local BMW dealerships for $1,795 which will add two additional years to my maintenance. Would I be better off going with the upgrade? I've heard brake replacement in itself is over $1k to replace.

Since you've had the car, how often have you've changed your brakes, oil, etc?. Based on that for the next 2 years do you plan on spending $1700 on maintenance?
You can probably get a brake job done at a local mechanic for much cheaper rather than at the dealer for $1k

I've actually only had the car for 2 weeks now, I won't need an oil change until next March (2015) and my brake pads should be good for another 30-45k miles according to my OBC. Not sure what else would need maintaining?
