Why do some M3's come with Michelin, Continental or Pirelli tires? Why isn't it all the same brand?

Having multiple suppliers helps ensure that they have ready access to tires even if one manufacturer is backordered or running slowly.

It also probably helps them get a better price by forcing the manufacturers to compete.

BMW Fanatik - no ned to sarcastic bro, just a question..

Other people, thanks for the info! I thought it had something to do with 6 speed and DCT trannys because coincidently I would see 6 speed cars with contis and DCT cars with michelin or pirelli.

Thanks tho!

How interesting! But a friend with a 6 speed got Michelin and my 6 speed had Conti SC3. Deliveries were about 3 mo apart
