Gender of BMW's

Sorry for this weird topic. Dont hate me for this though.

I always wonder why are cars addressed as "she". She is a beauty, shes gorgeous etc.

Dont you think that it should depend on the kind of car it is??

To me: VW beetle or a Rabbit etc can be called as she (looking at the curves or stance)

335i seems strong to me. I dont like calling it 'she'. I can associate it to a monster.. not 'she'. Anyone feels the same? What about Hummer? Nissan Titan? She? He?

well, let's see....a 335 is:

curvy
expensive to posses
runs hot when properly handled
occasionally moody
high maintenance (ok, before the 4/50 service plan)

gotta be a female

If your car was a guy, would you really want to ride a guy all the way to work?

Every vehicle I own is named "Jolene". Dolly's version of the song is the best...

If you name a car a man's name, just make sure you can pronounce it without that lisp kicking in.

Because, "I'm gonna gonna take him for a ride" sounds really gay.

Not that there's anything wrong with that. (Seinfeld reference)

When I received my 335 coupe at the Welt they were really surprised that I called her a "she." They said, "How could it be a female with all of that power?" I said, "she works out a lot!"

My 335 is a "she." I just call her my beauty. Fast as an antelope, ferocious as a tigress!

I agree, though curiously this is a national thing.
Largely in continental Europe inanimate objects like this are masculine.
In the UK however they are mostly femenine.
