Question pedals....Hot or Not?

as part of the modding process, I was thinking of eventually getting some brushed aluminum or other sort of pedal covers for my car. One of my friends who is into cars thinks I should leave the pedals stock, but I kind of like the look of some of the brushed aluminum pedal sets from the likes of AC Schnitzer and other companies.

Anyone have any thoughts? I'm sure a lot of you out there have pedal sets, so thoughts, do you regret doing it? think they look hot or not?

My one concern is that since they require drilling/screwing, if it comes time to sell the car or what not, I may have to buy a new dead pedal and/or gas pedal...but that won't be for a long time.

Thanks.

I think this is all personal preference. I don't like them because I feel that they draw attention to the footwell and scream, "Look at me!".

I like them, it matches silver or aluminum trim if you have that and is a way to dress up the interior a bit.

I agree with that, but I have the OEM stainless steel ones which are not very sporty, or flashy, but they dress it up just a little bit. The ones that come standard are just plain drab and old fashioned looking to me.

Great looking IMHO. And cuz they're OEM, no downside when selling.

I have a set of Ultimate Pedals and they match well with the aluminum trim (sorry no pics). You can see pics of different versions of these pedals in the following threads:

Overall I have been very happy with them - I like the aesthetics and the non-slip surface really works.

Nice! I actually like the design better than my OEMs.

One of the reasons I went with the OEM version was the assumption that they would wear well -- i.e. they wouldn't scratch, scuff, tarnish, etc. from repeated use.

So many of the non-OEMs are knock-offs, so you don't know the quality of the materials, fit and finish, and so on.

+1. ACS look the best .....but unless you have aluminum trim to match the pedals are "meh" IMO. Gives you a little more bling on the interior though.

hmm I have the dark walnut or whatever trim inside, so guess you're right, it might not match...I'll have to take some aluminum and hold it down by the pedals and see if it's too sharp against the wood.... car is SGM + Dakota Grey + dark wood trim....it may be too shiny with ANY aluminum colored pedals :-/

Anyone know of any dead pedals that could match? Ultimate Pedal only does aluminum pedals (or that's what I can tell from their website...)

I really like these pedals, but I'd have to have a matching dead pedal...
