~F10 550i/xi Upgraded Turbos Thread~

Wondering if something like this can be done. Maybe Tony at Vargas or RB has something coming along? Would easily put out a lot of high 10/ low 11 sec 550's out there.

turbos are easy.... Problem is no one has supporting flash files since the F10 ECU has not been cracked yet.

I see. So basically we would need to run cobb (if they will make a tune for this car) along with jb4. Similar to the 335's running cobb backend and jb4

So the plan is to harass Cobb till they do this right!? Lol! Upgrading the turbos would probably do wonders for our cars!

Haven't seen anything about upgraded turbos but they have inter coolers and an intake that's way too overpriced lol

Cobb can't crack the f30 335 which is a huge market. They're not touching the f10 market with a 10000 foot pole.

I asked them about a group buy for the F10 platform. They said no......there will definitely be no COBB tune.

So why can't a piggyback be used with upgraded turbos?

B/c it cannot control the timing and fueling tables with the needed range and precision.

I've got a recommendation from a mechanic to "polish" the internals of the turbos in our car claiming that it would increase flow, resulting in more power. Don't know whether it is actually useful or not. I am looking at any option at the moment since us N63 owners don't have much to look into in this field.

Any one heard of this before, or am I being bs'ed.

There's several things you can do including polishing and clipping. I would think a port and polish job on the heads would be more useful. If you do P&P heads, you can upgrade turbos later and your gains would be even better. Of course, you would have to do a custom tune instead of buying a preset tune. But without a tune, P&P heads should give you 10-20whp on turbo motors anyways.

You can also port your turbos but then you will probably want to port your exhaust parts connected to it as well.
