It could be a heating issue, as described above, so i am hoping if i put the transformer under the light, maybe this will resolve???

do i have to unplug them to put the transformer under ... i hope not as that would be a royal PITA.

He recommended you put the housing below the bulb but to be honest, I don't think it is necessary. You could even put the transistor outside of the headlight housing and just close the lid on the actual wire itself. The wire should hold up fine. Any how as mentioned below, just hit up Derrick. He was great to work with.

You really should have installed the unit in the bottom of the housing, like the instructions indicated. Yes, you will have to pull the bulb out to fit everything beneath it, but it's not THAT big of a deal.

Possibly. But hey it's working out for me so far.

You should have upgraded to Orion v4. They are bulletproof.

nothing but your dogmatic comment (never saw any order from you), we already made revisions to our DTEC product line which vastly improved our quality, just buy on Ebay next time , we could take our sweet time, but the upgraded driver modules only took about a weeks time and had to modify/fix every set, which was an enormous task, no need to get into specifics.

How can you reply to this post to defend your product when I've emailed you several times and even messaged you through the X5 board about a refund or replacement for the failed product you sold me?

After 2 sets of replacements have gone bad over the last couple months my current set is doing just as described above. Randomly one will shut off and throw a code and then randomly begin to work again. Very frustrating.

Is this a problem that has been identified and therefore a fix is available?

sorry about the late response, but yes, now we do, we recently made an innovative revision to our driver modules for all DTECS after many months of trial and error, longevity and life span should be increased immensely now.

i'm sticking with the OEM until there is a reliable replacement.
Don't need Chinese parts on my M. Or anything resembling them.

Am I the only one who doesn't want blaring, nightvision-destroying, illegal activity-revealing, bright-ass white lights inside his car? The oem ambers are almost too bright.
