hmmmm, alright, i understand where you're coming from. Then for the MARS DRL, does that have actual head lights along with it or is it just a housing and the half hexagonal angel eyes?

Mars performance one is a full set of housings with drl and projectors for the low beam so it has everything you need to replace your current housings. It does NOT come with an hid kit though. That is extra and you would have to buy it seperately and just replace the halogen bulb that comes with the mars performance headlight housing. There is a link down there for their product and if you look at their facebook page they have an additional one or two pics of the product on a bmw f30. Currently sold out it says.

The whole thing is BS. Xenons should have been standard with LED as the option.

Oh BMW, such a love-hate relationship.

You can always buy a Corolla. It comes with standard LED headlights.

Agreed. I can't believe it's not standard. Even Acura has had them as standard for over a decade.

That's why I ordered my car with xenons. It would kill me to have a premium brand and not have xenon

Or BMW could include some things that you would expect on a premium car.

You're 17? Tell your parents you want a car with HIDs. Or, save up and buy the parts to retrofit properly. Or, better yet, deal with the halogens and enjoy your new BMW... they are absolutely adequate, safe, and DOT-approved. Get glasses if your eyes are the problem.

I 've looked into this. In order to do the proper conversion it is a major hassle. It is not impossible but major job. There are two types HID light systems, one with auto-leveling and without. The parts will cost you over well $2500 (headlamp, bulbs, igniter, ballast, auto leveling motor, etc.) before you install them or have someone else install them for you . The install doesn't end there. You also have to rewire the lighting panel ( found in the passenger kick panel area) and have the car reprogrammed too. To me it is just too much hassle and very expensive. I have raised the headlights a bit and it helps.

Have you looked into BMW high performance light bulbs for non-HID cars ? it costs like $60.

No, the 316 is entry level. The 328 is above mid-spec.

Does anyone have a link for how to adjust the beam height? Btw OP, I replaced the factory bulbs with silverstar ultra zxe bulbs and it helped with brightness. Not drastically but it's better.

I have the BMW high performance bulbs in my car. Better than stock and exceptable performance. Equivalents are also available through Sylvania. I think they are called ultra brights. Search the lighting mods part of this site. They are in there. Don't put an HID bulb in a reflector housing. So many idiots do this and end up blinding other drivers. HID bulbs need to go into a projector not reflector housing

My experience with aftermarket bulbs are that they burn out quicker and sometimes melt the plastic connectors due to higher operating temps. Even Sylvanias...
