In my experience I would say 6-8 miles seems typical, 12 miles is nothing to get worried about. Apparently some folks are seeing 4 which may be the shortest possible (although I wonder what kind of quality check and PDI the dealer is doing without apparently any drive at all). Anyway some cars do come with more, I wouldn't sweat up to 20 but then I'd be a bit curious. I once got a car from Spartanburg with 20 but it had apparently been sampled for quality control (since I saw it get off the transporter no reason to doubt this). Note this is for a West Coast car, makes a difference because of the drive from the ship to the VPC.

Someone must of driven your car a bit farther than the elevator. I had 0.3 on mine. Either way we are only talking about less than 10 miles.

miles
When the dealer completes the Pre-Delivery inspection they have to add 5-10 miles on the vehicle to make sure there are no problems before the vehicle is purchased.

Mine had 22. Maybe they took it to get pizza at lunch break. Car is fine, no troubles; and it doesn't smell like the unwashed masses inside.
Don't worry about how many miles it has on it.

9 Km, but I know they had to drive it 4 km from their storage/receiving lot to the dealership.
Then I peeled the wrappers off it and drove it 22km and picked it up the following week after they completed the detail. That was pretty cool actually. I got to take the hood, roof, footwell and seat plastic off. Newest car I've ever had. Most I have had have been around 12km (16 new BMW's since 2002). Still haven't had the opportunity to pick one up in Germany yet. Maybe the next one.

Mine had under three when I picked it up at the Performance Center in SC. I think it was actually 1 or 2, but cannot remember.
The may test some or something, we all had different mileage IIRC during pick up. Your mileage may vary... Sorry, I had to work that in. |

Understood, I've driven it. My point was you aren't going to see a West Coast car with anything less than 3-4 miles. Just can't be done. Whereas on the East Coast I suppose 2-3 might, maybe 1 point something?
