I can always count on you Kevin

FYI, this is a pretty useful video to customize your settings on the 1D X or 5D3.

How is the shutter lag on the 5D3? One of the things I didn't like about the 5D2 was how slow it was, shutter lag on that was about equal with my old XTi.

No lag, but maKe sure you set Release priority over Focus.

Have any of you guys tried shooting with the body cover on to see if there are any hot pixels? ISO 100-1600 or something like that, and 30s, RAW, no in-camera noise reduction.

I tried this on my 1D X and saw 1 hot pixel at ISO 100, and 3 hot pixel regions at ISO 1600. Sadly, they all show up in my images... should I be concerned?

Camera sounds like a lemon. You should sell it to me at a huge discount.

You must have a very special XTi, most have a 100ms time and the 5D2 is at 59ms

Not quite 59ms Kevin... I think you were looking at the 5D3. The 5D2 is rated at 73ms.

Corrected, if I was perfect I would have two BMW's.
wait, I do
One's in pieces and the other needs bearings bad
At least I have the parts on hand.

The new 7D firmware is available on the Canon site. I just updated mine. The max auto-ISO setting is sweet. I'll have to give the new buffer a ride tomorrow.
