Couldn't find info on this on any of the forums, so I had to email Terry.
Thought starting a thread would benefit future users with the same question.

For those running meth (map 3) + G5 board...

What do you guys have your additive set to?
What do you guys have the boost failsafe psi set to?

Default failsafe is set to 18 psi , which may be too low for anyone running a 60 additive.
Terry informed me to set mine to 20 if I run a 55 additive. That would put me at around an 18 psi target, which would give me a 2 psi cushion.

Just wondering what additive people are running with the new G5 + meth/E85 mixes or those who run both meth + E85 mixes, since G4 board was really only able to support a 40 additive.

Im thinking of running a 55 additive when on meth and doing a 60 additive if i ever run a 30/70 E85/93 mix + meth....

What do y'all think?

I just had my meth kit installed this past weekend and I have the additive set to 30, for the G4 version, which puts me at 17 psi.

can you please post a log for a run where meth flows, and have IAT in the log

I think a 30 additive puts you at ~16 psi target...

I hit 17psi today after I finally set the JB4 and meth controls up correctly. http://www.n54tech.com/forums/showthread.php?p=159161 According to Coolingmist instructions, I would still need to drive the car some until the system "learns", I guess my driving style or what ever and yes I will post a log.

Yea, the system learns and adjusts itself. It adapts to IAT, fuel octane, mods, outside temperatures etc. Are you running the meth with 93 oct and the JB4 Failsafe box? I am running the FSB meth controller and I believe the correct meth flow scale setting is 60 if you are running the FSB...and a 40 additive is a good starting point if your using 93 oct.

Yes

The base target of map3 is 12 and change I believe.

I run 80 Additive (N20 sensor) with a 23 psi overboost safety. Keep in mind I have supporting mods to run this as well as 65% E85....need octane for higher boost.

Yea, RB turbos are several months down the road for me. Have you done a 1/4 mile with your current set up? Also, what kind of exhaust do you have? I didnt spot one in your sig..

I use add. 35... And boost safe at 18. Don't want to push my stock snails too much. I'm happy with 17psi boost. I sent my logs to terry and told
Me I can make add 50 or 60 when I use e85 too.

I run a 40 additive on 93 octane with the failsafe at 19psi.

After seeing some other posts, I'm thinking I could do at least a 50 additive if I up the meth content. Currently I'm using 60/40 meth/water by weight.

I use -20 ww fluid with no additives and add a bottle or two of heet per gallon. Really cheap. 2 bucks for ww fluid and 1 dollar for heet at Walmart. Plus this mixture, will never have to worry flashing or catching fire if leaked

35 additive shouldn't be 17psi

I'm using the CMGS/VC2 controller with FSB on 93 oct. So are you telling me I could increase the additive from 30 to 60 and not mess anything up? What would increasing the additive improve? According to the jb4 g4, I'm only good for 16.5psi, but I did hit 17psi on a short sprint which I reverified with my vent gauge.

You can only increase the additive if you're running a higher concentration of meth. I'm running 60add because I'm using 100% meth. Your timing should also be increasing above 10.

ok, if your using the CMGS/VC2 then the settings you have are correct for starting off. The settings that i mentioned are for the JB4+FSB ... Guess it is different. Since with JB4+FSB our meth flow scale is 60 and additive is 40, which is 4 psi increase.

Base is 12.8 psi.
So 35 add will be 16.3 psi.
