Okay, I really want to go canon but at the same time Im thinking of staying at nikon. Should I sell all my nikon gear and buy a used 20d with a 18-50 lens off ebay? or Just buy a good wide angle nikon lens (price ranged 100-200$)?

Why are you thinking of making a change? Is there something about the Nikon with which you are not happy? There isn't a whole lot of difference between the two systems. The 80-200 is a nice lens too, although I've not used to push-pull version. I have the two-ring version.

If you're just bored, try picking up a book on a different type of technique or subject, and practice shooting that. The 80-200 2.8 would be good for shooting pics of hookers on the strip at night.....

I been practicing d50, I had many of my photos used in the local paper. The reason I plan to switch to canon is because of their lenses. I think I would be happy with 20d w/ 17-40 f4L , w/ bg2 grip. 80-200 is a really sharp glass but I could also buy 70-200 f4L from canon. Also, the 5fps is really helpful lol... Man Ill just try to ebay my stuff and see how much I could get out of it.

Nikon lenses are as good or better than Canon - it's what they're know for. The good ones are just really expensive. Any of the AF-s lenses are among the top of the industry. Most people choose Canon because of the body. You should look at some of the new Nikon glass coming out. And the D3 - looks like it could blow the MarkIII out of the water, but time will tell.
