Good Driving Roads Near Boston

So since getting my car, I've really had the urge to take it out on some curvy roads. Back when I lived in Colorado this was fairly easy - I simply went into the foothills/mountains. And when I was in Western Mass there were lots of cool farm roads and roads going through the hills. Out here in Boston it seems like there is either 1) a ton of traffic or 2) less traffic but the area is still really residential so low speed limits/ not safe. I'm not looking to do anything dangerous/illegal, just go for the occasional relaxing drive after work or on the weekends. Does anyone have any good routes they use within 30ish minutes of Cambridge? Thanks!

kancamagus highway in NH is fairly close to Boston, to me it is anyway... its usually pretty dead in the mornings and traffic is only high during fall. my favorite road here... I just love that "NO GAS Next 32 Miles"....its just epic...oops I just reread your post and saw that you were looking for something 30ish mins from Cambridge...so this might be too far for you?

I have had the same question as well. Beside isolated stretches between suburbs...it is tough. Also, some towns I think keep their roads extra rough to make sure the riff-raff without Cayennes does not make it in so not too much fun to be had dodging huge potholes.

there are some nice roads out in the weston/lincoln area, like tower rd, newton st and rte 117. they're single lane roads, popular with commuters, so they're best enjoyed at off-peak hours.

my favorite road is out in concord...strawberry hill rd. lot of great roads out by concord/carlisle, but that's a little far from the city.
