Just got my Jet Black E92 in June, Certified w/ extended Warranty. 22k miles.

Factory Options:Technology Package,Carbon Fiber Trim, Black Power/Leather seats, Carbon Fiber roof, 19" 220M wheels, Navigation/DVD, Dark tinted windows...

So far, only did the C/F Kidney Grills, and painted reflectors....(There is a pic of the car 100% un modified later in the thread)

Car was in an accident, and is currently in a great high-end body shop (Should have her back in about 1-2 weeks)

While she's been in the shop I've accumulated a lot of exterior mods, and a few minor performance ones...

Here are some before pics of the car and some pics, of many of the mods, that will be on when I get it back, and some I will be doing immediately after...

Nice ~ If you're happy with her, that's all that counts. Can't go wrong with black, lots of work to keep her clean but well worth it. Happy driving!!!!

Tough/Impossible to keep clean and non-photogenic compared to AW or Silver M's but I keep a bag of brand new micro fibers rags in the trunk with some black spray detailer...And gotta say, I love waking up every morning and dusting her off.

But thanks

I'm usually a 1/4 mile guy, came from a series of front/all wheel drive japanese cars...

1991 Honda Accord 4 door, Custom painted Laguna Seca Blue, shaved handles, z3 fenders, full body kit, with a JDM H22a engine swap, Coilovers, etc (first car)

1990 Honda CRX, JDM B16A, 150 Dry shot NOS

2003 EVO (Bought in 03 Brandnew) eventually had it over 450whp.

I was a professional licensed mechanic for over 10 years, until I got into finance. The only reason I skimped on performance mods, Is I will be adding a super-charger and valved exhaust within the next few months, which I will be installing myself (with help from my fellow forum members I'm sure)

Also question for knowledgable members. The car has no top speed limit, and on my ride to Denver, CO from Long Island, NY a few weeks ago "a friend of mine" topped the car out on an empty desert road and hit over 180mph.

Does this mean I have a tune? Or a coder just removed it? I also beat a number of both DCT M3's and 6spd, and a buddies 420 whp 2006 c6 Vette with ton's of mods...It also felt much faster than the 2 other e92's I test drove...Insight???

i believe the numbers are as follow:

a) completely stock, 250km/h governor

b) bmw removed governor, 270km/h: this one i am not 100% sure about, but there is some bmw school you can goto and be 'certified' and they raise the governor even further. i recall it being 270km/h or 280km/h. someone confirm?

c) if you can push it any further then that, your car has been tuned and the governor is completely off.

that's my understanding anyways.

Thats what I figured, the power band also felt a bit higher and smoother than the other stock e92s i drove.

Anyone know any coders/tuners on LI that could plug it in and identify which tune I have if any???

Also how would BMWs 200 point(or whatever) safety check before the sale not notice the ecu tampering and can it void my warranty?

Part of me says some pictures look like it's Jerez Black (I have Jerez Black) but some definitely tells me it's 100% Jet Black.
I've seen Jet Black in person many times, i guess it's just the camera and the lighting

I see exactly what your saying. It's the filter on the pics, the lighting and just the nature of black itself, even under some blueish light it can look Jerez Black, until its parked next to a Jerez Black M3 of course, lmao.

....

Installing springs, Spoiler, and angel eyes, today and tomm. More pics soon.

PS. If any one needs a good recommendation for a body shop on Long Island, PM Me. Brought my car to someone highly recommended. Installed a number of parts I supplied for free, repaired rear quarter panel damage without ANY bondo, PERFECTLY, matched the factory color and texture to to the T. I doubt even a trained eye could tell what was painted and what was not...

Also when the car arrived on a tow truck, the owner said 4-6 weeks. I picked it up on day 38. And he "worked with me" on some other things

Couldn't be happier.

THE most important thing you need to know about your car. Warranty or not.

@DKM3Power

Very nice haul, I like the wheels especially.

But please, I have to ask you a favor. PLEASE, as a courtesy to all that is holy, PLEASE do not put that M badge on the front grilles. That is the tackiest most poserish shit in the universe, and BMW lost a lot of my respect by adopting the practice with the new car. If you want to dress up the grilles, putting the M stripes on the grilles is a much more subtle and nice way to set the front of the car off.

I'm serious. I will give you money, or buy you the stripes myself. Anything to prevent yet another car from putting on that faggy badge on the front end. Please, think of the children.
